Is a line of scrimmage league, yet

Texas owned Georgia both ways, and played a very good and experienced LSU team pretty even. Most of you thought LSU a would run over Texas. Texas out rushed LSU.

LSU won. Period. Great game to experience. I can live with that.

Senior quarterbacks with good receivers are problematic. 4.4 40 guys breaking an arm tackle from behind and taking it to the house does not mean the defense is bad, just that the offense is better.

Oh, by the way, Texas is Back.

Not as THE favorite in college football, but from wondering in the desert for the last decade, including the worst 4 year period in our 100+ year history. Our team is very young and very physical and they are still growing. I know for a fact the LSU fans surrounding me didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until the onside kick.

Perhaps it’s time to change the narrative about full throttle offenses and how that impacts defensive statistics.

Flame away.

I wouldn’t say y’all played us even. If our defense didn’t turn into zombies over the halftime break it would have gotten ugly. In the first half we completely outclassed y’all and y’all couldn’t even get first downs at the end of the second quarter.

I don’t know what player told the trainers at halftime that the defense didn’t need IVs. They were clearly wrong and on another night that could have cost us the game.

The game was played at Texas' home field. LSU was a 6.5 point favorite. LSU won by 7 points. LSU was and is the better team. Better luck in 2020 Horns.

Lose to LSU in what was not as close of a game as the score would have you believe and declare Texas is back

Texas is not back....you are good and will hold your own, but you are not back....lsu picked you apart and had some breakdowns on the defensive side that kept you in the game....if it werent for that you would have gotten rolled out of your own house....keep it down you are good....but not back

Might as well be UCF bragging about owning Auburn in the Peach Bowl.

I think you're right. Not for every Big 12 team (a lot run that scheme because it's the only way they can compete), but teams like Texas and Oklahoma can recruit and play any way they want to. Just like teams like Alabama and LSU can convert from overpowering beasts that run for 300 in the I formation and hold teams to 10 pts or less, to wide open offenses that just need to hold the opponent under 30 to win comfortably (but not every SEC team can do so).

It's a phase in the game, Bama was slow to pick it up and LSU is even later. But it makes sense, because the game is getting away from it's physical roots with all the new rules.

LSU having Fournette didn't have the same impact as Texas having Earl Campbell, and those guys aren't as valued by the NFL as much anymore either. A great RB can get you maybe 10 yrs max, and no guarantee other than playoffs, but a great QB can get you up to 20 yrs now, and eventually a Super Bowl. Look at Drew Brees, and LaDainian Tomlinson. Both drafted by the Chargers in 2001. Both will be HoF'ers when finished. One retired almost a decade ago, and was considered to be one of the greatest of all time with a lengthy career; the other is continuing to set all-time records and is favored to lead his team to the Super Bowl this season.

Point is, it makes sense to depend on your QB more. And for colleges, that will mean getting better recruits at that position, because the top guys don't want to be game managers, even for title teams.

What is "back?"

Ahhh yes, moral victories makes the belly feel full.

LSU owns you.

(And your Texas mother is a whore,

BTW.)

The Floppers beat y'all fair and square and will flop on to their next game undefeated.

Texas is not back until they win something. Win at least another game before declaring Texas is back.

I remember back when Texas was still here and didn't have to be back but then, you know, Colt's Shoulder happened.

That was the moment that Texas really fell apart. Macko, after seeing a team that could run the ball, decided his team was going to run the ball and declared that Texas was going to change their whole offensive scheme.

And the rest is history. I think you should worry less about whether or not Texas is back and pray that those stupid fricking Bammers don't somehow end up playing your team again.

The 2 teams that claim to be DBU gave up a combined 871 yards of passing. I would say both teams lacked in defensive effort.

By Back... Do you mean 3 conference titles since 1996 and one national title since 1970?
