Yeah, something screwy with that statistical claim. USC took AP#1 Dec. 7th, 2003 and held it into January 2006, except for 2 weeks Georgia held #1.

It’s a hell of a lot of games to research. But I’m pretty sure that, until last night, a team has never beaten AP #1 after being down 20.

I mean, I seem to recall a Ryan Day coached Ohio State doing something similar one particular new years eve a few years back. He's just a pretty good coach that was handed a very good program with deep pockets.
