Again, NOBODY seems to be thinking this hire all the way through.

Bielema wants to bring a ground and pound, playaction pass, hard-nosed defensive style to Arkansas. Ok, fine. What people aren't talking about is the fact that to accomplish ANYTHING of note, you have to compete wih LSU and Bama...who play the exact same style that Bielema wants to. The problem is that Arkansas will NEVER EVER EVER have half the overall talent of those two, especially on defense. It's not possible with the limited talent stable available in Arkansas/Missouri. Bielema will try, and fail, to beat the big boys at their own game.

Why did Petrino have success there? Why is Sumlin having success at A&M? Neither had/have the talent of those two teams. They succeeded because they arent stupid/arrogant enough to try and beat Miles and Saban at their own game with inferior talent.

I'm sure your Cocks will LOVE playing the Faggies. The most fabulous football game on TV for sure.

Sounds like you've thought about this hire a lot. Thought about it in the day. At night. Tossing and turning awake and fearful of facing a Bielema led Hogs team.

You really think you're the first person to say this? It's been said over and over and over and over again

Bielema is going to run a balanced offense... he showed that with his hire of Chaney

And since when does wanting to actually play defense make us trying to beat bama and LSU at their own game?

Not really. Took me about nine seconds to realize what not one person in the state of Arkansas has apparently thought of.

If I were a Hog fan, I'd be very nervous about a career Big 10 coach who routinely got blasted by decent teams and is going to try and beat Nick Saban by running the ball 40 times.

You don't know shite about Bielema so don't act like you do

He's not going to bring in a "run run run" offense. In fact he's had one of the most balanced offenses at Wisconsin

Difference between trying to play defense and trying to win games with defense.

Bobby Petrino never even tried to play defense.

Sumlin tries to play defense but wins with offense.

Miles and Saban try and win games with defense.

Who says we aren't going to have a prolific offense that will score a ton of points?

Since 2006 only eight teams have run the ball 40 or more times more consistently than Wisconsin and four of them are triple option programs.

Looks like you're the one who "doesn't know shite" about Bielema.

This is a damn myth. He owned all the teams he should have and was competitive with the top half of the league. People throw out the 16-18 stat a lot but forget that that means tOSU, Mich, and Penn State(all traditionally stronger teams). This is like saying Spurrier is a shitty coach because at USC he has a losing record against UT, UGA, and UF. Of course he does! Doesn't mean what he did there isn't impressive. Bielema coached UW to 10 wins 4 times out of the 6 years he was there! Pretty good for Wisky IYAM.

Cute. But you never answered how Bielema is an upgrade from Petrino when he never really accomplished anything of note. Oh wait, he took y'all to that BCS game one time and embarrassed the SEC by losing to OSU.

I would be worried about Sumlin running out of inherited all world QBs and winning 3-5 games, if I was you.

Assuming Russell Wilson isn't walking through the door in Fayetville, Bielema's coaching history says as much.

In seven seasons at Wisky, Bielema had two offenses that could be considered good by national standards. One of them was with an absolutely loaded unit including a first-year NFL starter at QB and the all-time TD record holder.

Three times his teams were in the top 20 in three and outs. Four times in the top 20 in total turnovers.

Who do you think brought those kids to UW? Could it maybe have been the Head Football Coach?!?!

That's Wisky Bert 2nd from the left in the top row. The other are Butch, Malzahn and Stoops.

Manziel had never taken a college snap and was a horrible passer when Sumlin got here.

Let's stop acting like Manziel would have won the Heisman under any coaching staff. Sumlin has a history of working wonders with young QBs.
