I do understand what a public figure is. Probably more than you. FWIW, it is a matter of opinion.

ETA: Black's defines a public figure as a person who has achieved fame or notoriety or who has voluntarily become involved in a public controversy.

I absolutely would have a problem...with the coach's wife who said it. You would be wrong otherwise, as I have spent far too much time on the internet to be naive enough to expect something to be kept private because it might hurt somebody's feelings. Nor should it be.

Then you understand that when her husband started getting paid 1.3 million dollars a year, appearing on national televsion several times a year, and she started accepting money for public speaking engagements like this one - it was not a church service, tickets were sold - that she became a public figure.

Again, no she didn't. I have been paid to speak at an event where people paid to attend. i am a long way from a public figure. Also, being married to an assistant college football coach does not make one a public figure. You are wrong.

you're right. Guess you can not expect anywhere to be free from you tube posters.

Clearly the guy posting it is a class act and acted responsibly.

And I guess the T-Town Menswear guy didn't think his photo's on his FB page would have been shown all over the net either. Don't recall any aubies on here claiming the NTY foundation were pieces of trash like this bammmer. Crazies on both sides.

From an LSU fan Kristi malzahn may be a little crazy and maybe she should tone it down a little, but the editing made it worse. It had Gus was like shut up 20 times spliced in there which made her sound more and more crazy. The only time she said it it wasnt that crazy and made sense in context. Everything can look bad if you splice it up hell just look at the occupy vs police videos....the spliced down videos look really bad on the police but when you see the full thing they were obviously in the right. Also the fact that its a bammer who did it just reinforces that the UA fanbase is a bunch of idiots who take things way too seriously.....updyke and now this in one year....great job gumps.

Isn't he the one who showed them on the net? I think that is exactly what he wanted. He was advertising his store.

I'd say she voluntarily involved herself in a controversy when she created one with her comments in a public forum.

So there was a public controversy that she inserted herself into? What controversy did she create? You are stretching and still coming up way short.

If she is not a public figure in this context, why doesn't she pursue legal action against this attorney?

what the frick is that supposed to mean, really sounds like you've been on ITAT too much getting talking points from the Aubies.

I have a diploma from The University of Alabama, watch the games, and like to waste some time on these boards fricking around with all the lunies.

My point was/is that anyone who wants the series cancelled needs to quit being a pussy by letting others and their actions dictate their feelings.

Hey genius, the "Bama guy" being mentioned here wasn't the first one to post it. Someone who had access to the original tape posted it on youtube. From there it was copied and edited by the Bama guy and several others.

What legal action would she pursue?

The shite that is hilarious about this is that the ORIGINAL video that made its way around the internet, including this board, was not edited whatsoever. THAT video had people saying "man, she is batshit crazy" and "I bet she screwed Cam"...it wasn't the later edited version with her constantly saying "Gus said shut up" that gave her and this interview notoriety.

More BAMMER myth.. the NTY foundation did not out Ttown's Menswear... You can thank Tuna and his thread for that... It was SBB and Clay Travis...

Come on now. Regardless of who made video that crazy bitch deserved the publicity it got her. I feel sorry for Gus.
