Evans is great and all but I'm not ready to say that he is the best. Comparing him to Calvin Johnson is laughable considering how much faster Megatron is.

How so? He brought up potential. This thread isn't about potential.

Like I said Evans is good and had a monster game. Made a couple of amazing catches. But he isn't the only one that has done that this season. Sorry my opinion (that just happens to be backed up by stats) differs from yours

It's okay, LSU does not have to be the best at everything. There are some players from other teams better than LSU players.

Show me where I said LSU has the best wr?

I said best tandem. If you look at the link I posted, you would see that Matthews is at the top which I agree with 100%. Imagine if he had half a qb.

Evans is a beast. As far as all around weapon? It's OBjr by far.
He is far more versatile than Evans.

If I am a QB and I have my choice of throwing to a WR that will make things easier on me, I want Mike Evans.

Amari is fine. He's playing well. Last season Amari didn't have to share passes with as many WRs. Bama's WR corp is stacked and healthy.

Because he said Mike Evans has the potential to be like Calvin Johnson, which in turn means he has the potential to be a great NFL WR. And he does...

Agreed. Colston might be a better comp.

I agree. As a wr , Evans is better. OBjr is more versatile. He was leading the NCAA in all purpose yards. Just this year OBjr has been a diff maker at wr, taking a handoff, punt return, and kick return

And I didn't disagree with that statement. However, this thread isn't about "SEC wr potential" so the statement was irrelevant

Either way I think it's

1) Matthews
2) ODB
3a) Evans
3b) Landry

That's awesome. But, there are a lot of these type WRs in college football. Hardly any like Mike Evans though.

Exactly, or a compare him to a thinner Jimmy Graham. Amazing possession receiver, but not fast enough to burn good DB's.

Only thing I don't like is OBjr seems to be our deep threat. He's 5'10, not the greatest matchup as a deep threat. And we've seen that, CBs are able to go up with him. Evans is a matchup nightmare with his size. I wish we had a tall WR who could go up over a corner.

This just isn't true. OBjr is one if the elite playmakers in all of the SEC. There aren't many wrs that are racking up 300 yards of total offense in games.

Amazing depth at WR for Bama. 9, 22, 7, 2, 83. Arguably best group in the country.

The day Beckham racks up 300 yards of total offense against any SEC team...
