I like Auburn's version for its speed and brass, but LSU's for it's slow jazz style. Both are great, but who wins?

I am not a fan of Clemson's. It doesn't have that brassy feel.

What the heck is a tiger rag?

How'd the song get this name?

LSU’s. Anything else is a cheap rip-off

Per your link
quote:

Tiger Rag is LSU's pregame song which was first introduced in 1926. LSU is the first school to use the melody. The Louisiana State University Tiger Marching Band performs it on the field before every home game and a section of the hit song is played right after the Tigers score a touchdown. However, the full version of the song is reserved for very special occasions.

They both have their merits. I have heard Auburn's many many more times because I played NCAA Football alot when I was a kid, and those games always played Tiger Rag rather than Auburn's standard "War Eagle" fight song. LSU's slowed down version can give one chills.

Yep. "War Eagle" never made it to that game due to copyright restrictions.

What a joke that whole fiasco was.

I do like the slow start to LSU's version however.

I knew we all loved it in South Louisiana for over a century but I had no idea it was such
an international hit.

I'm biased, I grew up listening to the Golden Band. I will say this, AU's is better than Clempson's.

Also, this version LINK sounds great.

LSU.

Auburn’s is too choppy. LSU’s is smooth and easy.
