2020 Alabama

While 2019 LSU had more talent, it was coached by Ed Orgeron

1992 Alabama

- No NIL

- No Transfer Portal

- Players actually cared about the college they played for and not just the Money.

- Defense Defense Defense and not some flashy Offense.

- You could actually play real Football without all the stupid Penalties we have now days.

- Gene Stallings… last head coach to wear a suit on the sidelines.

- 11 players on the line defensively against a heisman QB and his star WRs.

- Gino Who?

LSU was not even rated #1 in F+ for 2019, let alone historically.

Why?

Because they didn't have a top10 defense. They had a highly rated offense, probably tied for the 3rd highest in the past 20 years.

It's still 95 Nebraska.

Also put 11 players on the line defensively against a heisman QB and his star WRs.

1992 Bama was great. They did have advantage of the wider hash marks (they have since been narrowed some). Which gave the defense the advantage. When they narrowed the hash marks it gave the offenses some advantage of having a more balanced field to exploit the defense.

But back to the 1992 Bama defense, they were tremendous. State and Florida both scored 21 points against them. Everyone else was well below that.

Best ever team was 1995 Nebraska.
Some other teams that are up there would be 1971 Nebraska and 1979 Alabama.

Is this the same team that finished with the 8th best defense in the SEC, averaged less than 43 yards per punt (10th in the SEC), missed 4 extra points & only hit 50% of field goals between 40-49 yards? That “team?” Or did you mean to start a thread to argue about the best offense?

The answer is the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers.

38 point average margin of victory.

The worst NFL team will always, without exception, destroy the best college football team. 2019 LSU was great, I think they're a contender for this designation along with 1995 Nebraska, but the 2019 Cincinnati Bengals would have annihilated them. College football fans who think their sport is superior have been blabbering about how college teams could compete with pro teams for the nearly 60 years that I've been following college and pro football, and it's just silliness.

Touche ... but usually when someone is using sarcasm/hyperbole they add an emoticon or something to signify it. Somebody just randomly looking at your post would think you were dead serious.

But there are people who will argue about college vs. pro teams. I've argued with them LOL.

Anybody arguing that a college team would make it in the pros is being sarcastic or are new to football lol
That comment was me stating that 2019 Tigers were basically in a league of their own.
Within CFB.

The 92 Alabama offense just isn't good enough to be the GOAT. Too many close games. Being the GOAT means being elite on both sides of the ball, and that's going to show up in the MoV.

95 Nebraska is the GOAT. 2020 Alabama came close, but the close game against Florida ended it.
