This isn't 2022 Alabama with no resume and an entire argument of "but we have lots of talent and lost close games".

- Alabama has the best collection of wins in the country (#6 UGA, #11 Ole Miss, #13 LSU, #21 Tennessee)

- Alabama's #3 best win (LSU) is FSU's best win

- Alabama's only loss was to #3. Florida State hasn't played a team ranked higher than #13.

- Alabama has 3 Top 15 wins. Florida State has 1.

- Florida State played 2 games without their starting QB. They played the #64 defense (Florida) and the #26 defense (Louisville) per SP+. They averaged 20 PPG and 222 YPG. That would rank #133 (last) in yards per game and #119 in points per game nationally. The playoff defenses rank #1, #9, #10 and #45.

The idea that this flatly comes down to "muh Vegas lines" is silly.

Well you have always been not only among the best Bama posters on this site, but one of the best among all fan bases. Your post is stated objectively and with facts, no trolling, no opinion, just the facts (to quote Detective Joe Friday from the old Dragnet show).

Objectively, Bama has 4 wins vs. the CFP's top 25 and a loss against CFP 3. 4-1 resume vs CFP top 21 teams is the best resume out there.

And I guarantee if Oregon and Washington played again Oregon would be favorites. So should Oregon be in ahead of Washington?

Conference championships and head to head are considered. Jesus Christ this is all pretty simple, why are y'all struggling so hard with all this?

Okay George I can agree with that part of your argument and I can see where you are coming from with that prospective. But if that is the way it is handled then they shouldn't of been ranked #4 going into the ACC championship.

Thank you for your civil and actual informative discussion instead of just (LSU fan melt) I just think this sets a dangerous territory from the great game of college football because to me it screams. Regular season doesnt matter. This was handled poorly.

Good data that speaks for itself, but the committee spokesman made it simple: they felt that without FSU's star QB, Jordan Travis, FSU simply is not the same team.
Furthermore, it didn't help that their backup QB did not play in the ACCCG due to a concussion he sustained during the Florida game.

Saban says that Vegas would favor his team over others.

These are things other coaches don't do.

And he's your coach. I get you. You will always love your coach. That's how college football works.

It is the Gary Danielsons and kirk herbstreits who bother me. They follow his shite like it is a $10,000 hooker. As I said, the hypocrisy is tiresome.

Yea none of them said we should be in last year. And we didn't get in.

They all went to bat for your team in 2021, though, when your coach said even though you lost in Atlanta you deserved a 2nd shot. But that was fine I guess, cause Kirby is a straight shooter or something.

Hey man - I don't disagree with you. And I seriously hate it for Florida State and hate it for Jordan Travis specifically. And quite frankly if they decided "best team" is the criteria or whatever, they should have gone ahead and ranked Georgia #5 and Florida State #6. The stupid shows they do during the season do nothing but hurt them, even in years when things aren't complicated.

Just a little frustrating seeing all this talk floating around that was absolutely applicable last year (Alabama wants in simply because they are talented) but is not applicable this year.

Because lets be honest, for many on this forum they're not mad that this decision was made. They're mad it was Bama that benefited from it.

If Georgia had won, the committee would have put Texas in ahead of FSU, and not a peep would be said about it.

I'm also readily admitting it is a debate. I'm not saying it was some clear cut "Bama should be in" situation. If they'd gone with FSU it would have been a completely reasonable decision due to other factors.

We should go back to the computer BCS model and take the committee out of it.

Per BCS Know How:
BCS Rankings after Conference Title Games

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Alabama
4. Florida St.
5. Texas
6. Georgia
7. Ohio St.
8. Oregon

Saban said it himself.
Some teams are the best 4 in the country. But they still don't deserve to be in the playoff.

2018 seems so long ago.

Because strength of schedule matters more.

Hence why Liberty is not in the playoffs.

It’s been 8 hours and you’re still crying about Alabama getting in over FSU. Texas also got in over FSU and no one has said anything about them

How dare a coach go to bat for his team. How exactly should he be “held accountable “?

See my statement above. It's not that a one loss team got placed over FSU. It's that it was Bama.

You can keep saying it and it will keep being dumb as shite. It should have been the 3 undefeated P5 conference champs and then down to UT and Bama. No one is saying shite about UT because UT should’ve been in at 4 over Bama.

I'm not saying anything about Texas because they would be the #4 team in after the 3 undefeated teams because of their head to head win over Alabama who they would be competing with. But yeah keep going, I've already said this.

Was FSU tied with SOUTH FLORIDA at half? Did they get blown out by Texas at home? Just admit that Bama gets special treatment in college football and be done with it.
