I do wonder though if having too many alphas on an offense hurts chemistry. Not everyone can get the ball. That 2019 team lost 2 regular season games.
The 2010 roster was similarly stacked; though weighted more towards a rushing attack. They had the following future NFL players on offense.
2 QBs, 3 running backs, 3 wide receivers, 2 TEs, 4 offensive linemen.
The running back trio of Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy would be in the conversation for best ever.
They lost three regular season games.

Williams and Metchie were a pretty good duo also.

That 2019 Bama squad was absolutely special, it just ran into the best team in CFB history in LSU. That was Bama’s best team in quite a while.

A 1-5 of
Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, and any other 2 humans on the planet is still the best receiving corps ever assembled.
You are talking about 2 WRs that are the 2 best WRs in the NFL since they have been in the league. Not starters, not pro bowlers, talking HOF career tracks.

They didn't play 2020 Bama.

Stats for 2019 for each teams top 4 wide receivers.
Jamarr Chase: 84/1780/20
Justin Jefferson: 111/1540/18
Terrace Marshall: 46/671/13
Racey Mcmath: 17/285/3
Total: 258/4276/54 (15 games)
Per game average: 17/285/3.6
Devonta Smith: 68/1256/14
Jerry Jeudy: 77/1163/10
Henry Ruggs: 40/746/7
Jalen Waddle: 33/560/6
Total: 218/3725/37 (13 games)
Per game average: 17/287/2.8
On a per game basis, their receiving corps were damn near identical with LSU getting the nod for more touchdowns.
The crazy thing is there were 5 future NFL wide receivers on the field that game who accounted for over 450 receptions, 7,700 yards, and 88 touchdowns that season. Three of them had over 1,000 yards that season and five had over 500 yards that season. And that doesn’t include the running backs and tight ends.

I’ll always show love for 2006 LSU
Dwayne Bowe- 1st rounder
Craig Davis- 1st rounder
Early Doucet- 3rd rounder (likely 1st/2nd if not for injuries)
Brandon LaFell- 3rd rounder Super Bowl champ
Trindon Holiday- gadget player listed as a WR
Jared Mitchell- good player but his future was always baseball. CWS champ at LSU.

I think this is the real reason people say CFB is down. Everything is gonna be down compared to that kind of concentrated talent. And don't forget NFL QBs and Steve Sarkisian dialing up plays.
Outside of maybe the 2007 Patriots, the 2019 LSU & 2020 Bama offenses are the most unstoppable football offenses I've ever & probably will ever see

Pretty hard to argue against 2019 LSU at this point with what Chase, Jefferson and Marshall have done in the NFL along with terrific college careers.
The Alabama group in 2018 and the Ole Miss group in 2016, though Metkalf really didn't play much that year, are next in line.
Alabama 2018
WR Jerry Jeudy
WR Devonta Smith
WR Jaylen Waddle
WR Henry Ruggs III
Ole Miss 2016
WR AJ Brown
WR DK Metcalf
WR Van Jefferson
TE Evan Engram
LSU had some very good WR groups in the mid 2000s as well. A bunch of guys that had long solid NFL careers.

you could add in
TE Dawson Knox
Jeff Lebby and Phil Longo grossly underused some of the talent above

Yep, good point. And some other solid college WRs (Stingfellow, Adeboyejo). Just a loaded room.
Longo is such a joke.

2016 was just Hugh Freeze doing Hugh Freeze things. They had co-offensive coordinators with Matt Luke and Dan Werner. Longo didn’t come around until 2017 when Matt Luke was head coach. No, 2016 was peak Hugh Freeze.
I expect several of Auburn’s offensive players this year will have NFL careers too.

Metcalf was made of glass in his time with us. Sucks we never got to fully utilize him at the college level.
