If folks would read the methodology they would see that other factors such as financial aid are included. Also the article was unclear if this was just about football or all sports so I looked at other sports. Here is what I found:
Men's ftball - #1
men's baseball - #1
men's golf - #3
men's basketball - #6
men's tennis - #7
women's basketball - #5
women's bowling - #1
women's golf #2
women's tennis - #2
surprisingly I didn't see (you have to pay to see more) women's cross country where we are very good (just came in second in the SEC)

so I can see why we are #1 for football or overall. Certainly, we will drop in football after this year. But I hope many of you will see that Vandy is very good in lots of sports. We suffer in the SEC all sport comparison because we get a zero for sports that we don't have teams for and that everyone else does. It's Great to be Gold!

Not touching this. Lol.

But I will say that whenever Alabama is involved in any positive list like this, auburn fans shite all over how much these list are worthless and make no sense.

I will say that this list having Vandy at 1 should automatically invalidate it. A lot of other good schools with legit football history/current success.

The absolute of list like this are shite and make no sense. Auburn leads above Bama in most of these list. For 20 years Bama fan said USNWW was shite, until they moved past Auburn. Now it is the only list that matters.

Judging from some of the posters on this board Auburn should be no where near the academic portion of this discussion.

But Florida is the 2nd best academic school in the SEC. How is Stanford 9? How is Auburn even on the list? List doesn't make much sense.

The list is poop. Most of these lists are poop and are only posted if they make some poster's school look good.

Vandy at #1 makes this list worthless.

Must be heavily weighing last year. Hard to find a better school combining academics and high level athletics than UF.
