Our stadium looks pretty lame from the air.

The best views are from inside, which still aren't anything to write home about compared to most of the SEC.

It's much flatter, not as steep, smaller than most bowls so you are closer to the field than pictures show.

Umm...you need to understand that a steeper angle is better for stands, since it allows more of the fans to sit closer to the field.

Close sidelines look logistically cumbersome, cramped.

Sure don't have that problem at BDS. All kinds of space on those sidelines. Enough for two stadiums, in fact.

Subjectively BDS and Kyle Field are the nicest in the SEC.

Don't agree, and have stated why before. Too much bare bleachers, too far from amenities, and too much erector set. At least BDS covers it better.

...the bones and base that Tiger Stadium has to deal with are probably a disadvantage to stadiums like BDS that have symmetry.

Symmetry is exactly the problem at BDS. Because the lower bowl curves so much, the upper decks do, too.

As far as Tiger Stadium, you can't build stands anymore with the same angle as the stands there. Older stadiums have that grandfathered in.

Our fans sit closer to the field, they have more exits in the stands, which means they can get to/from restrooms/concessions faster. And spend less time away from the game.

BDS has a symmetry problem, but TS doesn't?

What exactly do you call the shape of the area in between your stands?

I'm not at all sure what you're on about. Our stands are straight, both lower and upper. They are pretty close to the field, they incline at a good angle, and there's plenty of exits in the stands.

None of that describes BDS.

Ok?

You could fold BDS in half either way and it would match perfectly

That's symmetry

And it looks great. I don't deny that. I just have to downgrade it as a venue to watch football. The stands are relatively flat and low, there's more than an end zone worth of dead space between the field and the sidelines, and the field is off center.

The end zone upper decks are bare concrete with little lighting, and every fan in general seating has a trek to get to restrooms/concessions.

It's as old school a stadium as you can get. The new additions to Tiger Stadium, Reynolds Razorback Stadium, and Mizzou's Memorial Stadium show the way that stadium additions are trending. Namely more premium seating with more amenities.

Pretty sad you keep having to use a photo from when Kyle was still under construction. I mean you can still see the green fencing in the background

I mean, Tiger Stadium is a great venue, but doesn't it also have like 3 different exterior motifs going on as well?

I haven't been since the last renovation, but it seems like there was a little mix and match going on

And that big block of concrete concourse or whatever it is

I dunno, in a thread about best looking stadium, I just don't rate it at the top

Even more sad that it looks no better. I don't accept that nothing could have been done to improve that. That's what bothers me so much about it. They just didn't care to try.

As disjointed as Tiger Stadium is, it's still one of the best looking stadiums in the conference. What's more relevant is it does what it's designed to do better than any other.

But they removed the random arse PVC pipe = top spot

FTR TS at multiple points in CFB history was the greatest and largest stadium in the country. Tulane and LSU got in building wars over who could build the biggest and best stadium. It went back and forth for almost two decades.

Majority of people don't. I've never heard a sports analyst talk about how nice it is. Kyle Field and BDS yes

Probably a bad angle on google street view gave you this impression.
