Oh well, in my opinion the SEC doesn't look that great this year, and no team looks truly DOMINANT within the SEC. Agree to disagree. Still the best conference though

I won one argument so now you guys want another?
No the SEC is not down we have 10 bowl elligible teams out of 12 how stupid are you?
Name a conference that is "up" then.

Sure name a bigger matchup than Bama vs. Florida 2009.
"The SEC is down"
Recap:
Xeno said it was USC vs. Texas because they had more NFL talent (wrong) and because he felt there were 10 better SEC teams this decade than Bama or UF
I believe he mentioned that LSU 2007 could beat both teams, that could have been another ranter they blend together.
Arrakis said it was 71 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma because Nebraska was the best team of the century and OU was 12-0.
I don't think you can prove it was "better" than tomorrrow's game but I don't see it being far off in either direction.
Then there was a bunch of rantards calling me delusional because other Bama fans haven't "taken" up for me, but alass none have given any argument for why I'm wrong. Since I don't have knowledge of the '71 game my opinion isn't accepted by others even though they have no proof to substaniate such claims.

This speaks to the parity (not dominance) of the league.
A league that has 6 headbusters is better than a league with 10 mediocre teams

OK - the National Champ. Game 2009
Using the SECCG to justify why the SEC is not down is pretty stupid, btw

Here is why the SEC is not down.
Heisman candidates: Ingram, Tebow
Bama 12-0
UF 12-0
Last week UGA beat the #1 team in the ACC Georgia Tech, and South Carolina beat the #2 team in the ACC Clemson.
10 out of 12 sec teams have qualified for bowls which show the strength of our OOC records.

If you weren't born before the '08 season, then you wouldn't have seen or remember the hype of the Texas/USC game. Trust me, that game was FAR more hyped than this game. And then the game itself was a classic.

Yes, a couple in this decade.
CFB doesn't stop when Bama sucks.

Texas/USC game.
The USC-OU game the year before was just as hyped, if not more. We forget because the game was lousy, but it was called the best match-up ever, with 4 Heisman finalist and 2 winners (3 if you count Bush who won the year after.
There have been several other over the years. The Miami-Penn St Fiesta Bowl in 86 was hyped big time. Both were independents at the time and rather than play in separate bowls, NBC, The Fiesta and Sunkist (the sponsor) ponied up the $ to make the payout = the Sugar and Orange and moved the game to the night of 1/2 to primetime.

using your own argument, and projections for NFL draftees from this Bama team.. the 2006 LSU team was more talented, and that wasnt even the best LSU team of the decade..
NFL Draftees from 2006 team:
2007 Draft:
J Russell - 1st round
L Landry - 1st
D Bowe - 1st
C Davis - 1st
C Pittman - 7th
2008 Draft:
G Dorsey - 1st
C Jackson - 3rd
J Hester - 3rd
E Doucet - 3rd
C Steltz - 4th
M Flynn - 7th
K Zinger - 7th
2009 Draft:
T Jackson - 1st
Q Johson - 5th
H Johnson - 5th
C Taylor - 7th
D Byrd - 7th
RJF - 7th
and that team still has one more draft to go..
18 draftees SO FAR.. 6 first rounders..
