So, right now there is, of course, a lot of discussion on the SEC championship. Mainly between the LSU offense vs the UGA defense.

However, what’s the consensus on the best defense in the top 10? Obviously, the big contenders are OSU and UGA, but Baylor has shown to have a very good defense, too. Clemson is a contender as well even with their peewee schedule.

Out of all of them, I’d say UGA has at least the most consistent if not the best, but OSU has Chase Young who can create havoc in the backfield which UGA has struggled to create.

OSU hands down. UGA's is good, but Young is almost honey badger level disruption. UGA doesn't have that "one" guy quite like that.

Yep. UGA is very deep and disciplined but they don’t have the top end talent that OSU does

Young was a no show against Michigan.

Figures, salty UGA fans. Care to tell me who on UGA's D is of equal talent to Young?

He was pretty respectful to Shea Patterson last week with 0 tackles/sacks

You watch LSU, not college football. If you take TM over Young you know nothing.

I would say requiring a double team for majority of the game is doing a damn fine job and far more than a "no-show"....

Mathieu and Young is a pretty dumb comparison considering their positions, and how they disrupt plays.

Nobody.

But by your logic Houston had the best Defense in 2017 because they had Ed Oliver.

Who said anything about "take".

I said, if you could not rage and read, that Young is almost at that level of disruption.

Except that OSU also has Okudah and multiple other 5 star DL LB and DB

No. My logic is OSU also has other elite talent at every level.

Its fricking OSU. Not Temple.

JR Reed is a Nagurski Finalist for the best defensive player in the country along with Derick Brown and Chase Young, so I guess you can say he is kind of good.

Tae Crowder is a Butkus semifinalist.

It’s tough for our players to get national recognition, if you ever watched a Georgia game, you would know that we substitute every down no matter what.

We consistently play 25+ on defense, which is what a defense is supposed to be. A UNIT, not 3 or 4 great players.

I will say that Chase Young and ends drives and can create turnovers. However, TM7 created point differentials by himself. Chase will probably be a better pro, but to compare him to TM7 in college is a very high bar.

ITT: high schoolers telling people one great player makes a defense instead of a great 11

Actually I’m probably the only high schooler in this thread and I’m telling them the exact opposite.
