I do like me some Memphis style dry rubbed baby-backs. But you cannot take anything away from Missouri when it comes to BBQ. Home of the KCBS - 'nough said.

If there is one way Mizzou is a good fit in the SEC, it has to be BBQ.

Hey Kills... Why you gotta troll it to death?

Memphis,

I've eaten barbeque in Memphis and the meat's good! Not gonna lie. That isn't the argument. I believe that meat slathered in sauce is for pussies. Dry rub all the way.

Missouri knows a thing or two about barbeque too. I mean, KC is internationally known for famous barbeque. However, if someone is slathering ribs in sauce, I'll boycott that place until I die!

As for Trey...well I'm just bustin his chops. He's too much fun. The guy is touchier than Clinton on ecstacy...

I thought I was a human being?

Spoken by someone who doesn't really know shite about bbq, but wants others to think they know something about it. Done right, bbq can be good with or without sauce. Most bbq in competitions is done with dry rub and then finished with sauce.

I disagree with you. Sauce is for pussies.

I've never tried it on pussies, but good sauce works well on good bbq, I know that.

We're talking pork and chicken in this bitch. When we want the inferior beef version of bbq, we will get your advice.

Most ribs are done that way. Butts vary. Chicken too. Brisket usually has no sauce.

Frankly, I don't like the direction of competition BBQ. Judges will count points off things if they don't look lacquered in goo. "Looks dry". No shite! It's a DRY rub.

The "best" chicken looks processed and judges making deductions if color and size aren't uniform. WTF? Frankly, I'd do away with chicken in BBQ competitions. Chicken's for fryin' anyway.

Wow, did I just rant about (who gives a F)?

Correct.

True. Most are dry rub only with maybe a vinegar based finish.

True, but Texas bbq doesn't count.

Judges prefer sweetness more than I do with my bbq, but I enjoy doing one or two competitions a year. I'm no expert, but I know a little.

Chicken? No thanks. But there's nuthin wrong with it if that's your thing. We could BBQ the shite outta a leather belt, and you'd think you'd died & gone to heaven after throwing some back. Come visit College Station & we may share a secret or two with you. We like visitors. They like our BBQ.

Butts are the only thing that should be slathered. I've dry rubbed a butt before. It wasn't bad. But it's much more fun if you oil it and then smack it around...

Are you talking about BBQ or a typical Tuesday with Bob Petrino?
