Current SEC Standings

LSU 4-0

Ole Miss 4-1

Alabama 4-1

Texas A&M 3-2

Arkansas 2-2

Miss. State 2-2

Auburn 1-4

Saturday, Nov. 7

Arkansas defeats Ole Miss: The Razorbacks, last year, found out how to shut out then-No. 8 Ole Miss. There might not be a shutout this season, but the Hogs know how to beat the Rebels.

Mississippi State defeats Missouri: It’s a Thursday night game in Columbia, Mo., and Missouri desperately needs a win. But the Bulldogs will take advantage of Missouri’s disappointing season.

LSU defeats Alabama: Yes, you read that right. LSU can do it, and nobody else on the Tide’s schedule will. This also gives the Tide that needed second conference loss for this scenario.

Texas A&M defeats Auburn: The Aggies continue to improve with Kyler Murray.

Updated Standings: LSU 5-0, Ole Miss 4-2, Alabama 4-2, Texas A&M 4-2, Arkansas 3-2, MSU 3-2, Auburn 1-5

Saturday, Nov. 14

Arkansas defeats LSU: Teams that play Alabama struggle the following week, especially when it comes to play on the line of scrimmage. The Razorbacks shut out LSU last year and can beat them in Baton Rouge, where four of the last six meetings have been decided by four points or less — including two overtime games.

Alabama defeats Mississippi State: Nick Saban hardly ever loses back-to-back games.

Auburn defeats UGA: The game’s in Auburn and UGA’s struggles continue.

Updated Standings: LSU 5-1, Alabama 5-2, Arkansas 4-2, Ole Miss 4-2, Texas A&M 4-2, MSU 3-3, Auburn 2-5

Saturday, Nov. 21

Ole Miss defeats LSU: Ole Miss gets revenge at home for last year’s upset loss in Baton Rouge.

Arkansas defeats Mississippi State: The Hogs return home to get their fifth-straight win and claw their way into a tie for first in the SEC West.

Texas A&M defeats Vanderbilt: If Houston beat Vandy, 34-0, imagine the points the Aggies will pile up.

Updated Standings: Arkansas 5-2, Alabama 5-2, LSU 5-2, Texas A&M 5-2, Ole Miss 5-2, MSU 3-4, Auburn 2-5

Saturday, Nov. 28 weekend

Arkansas defeats Missouri: Razorbacks get revenge, and a share of the SEC West title.

LSU defeats Texas A&M: The Tigers have owned the Aggies since Texas A&M joined the SEC. The streak continues.

Alabama defeats Auburn: The Tide remembers 2013’s Kick Six. Alabama goes out early and wins big.

Ole Miss defeats Mississippi State: The Rebels win a close one to clinch their share of the title.

Final SEC West Standings:

Alabama 6-2

Arkansas 6-2

LSU 6-2

Ole Miss 6-2

Texas A&M 5-3

Miss State 3-5

Auburn 2-6

Of course, this would create panic throughout the SEC. Paul Finebaum’s head might explode and Verne Lundquist would probably break his own Guinness World Record of saying “My Goodness” and “Oh My.”

Florida wouldn’t need four practice squads to prepare for the SEC championship, and there’s no need for mathematicians, engineers and armchair quarterbacks to figure out the SEC West representative in the title game. The conference uses this tiebreaker formula.

In a four-way tie, the first tiebreak is head-to-head records against the other teams in the tie. In this wild scenario, Arkansas would be 2-1 against LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama. Each of the other three teams would be 1-2.

The Razorbacks would go to Atlanta to play for the championship.

This is just one scenario. The keys in this one are Arkansas winning out, LSU beating Alabama and Ole Miss beating LSU.

I didn't realize that Alabama could lose just 1 more game and we would still have a shot to go to the SECCG. Booking my trip to Atlanta now.

If Ole Miss shows up Saturday, you do not stand a chance. Arkytards put so much weight on a game last year in which half the Ole Miss team was out and the rest didn't bother to show up.

The only sketchy part of this scenario happening is Auburn having to beat Georgia

Auburn is horrible this year

according to ESPN FPI (football power index) arkansas's chances of winning out are 1.6%

chance of beating ole miss - 22.7%
chance of beating LSU - 19.9%
chance of beating Miss state - 50.4%
chance of beating Missouri - 77.7%

the chance of those events happening in that particular order is 22.7% x 19.9% X 50.4% X 77.7% = 1.77%

thats the special rule of multiplication according to the laws of probability for independent events.

in other words , the probability is greater that you will get hit by a truck walking across the street or that a space alien will kidnap you....than arkansas winning those 4 games.....
