As a non trolling observation, NE looks so poorly coached in every area. I am not very impressed with that roster overall and some of its position players. They got to get better players

Also, yes, the Louisiana educational system is notoriously terrible.

Mac isn't the problem.
The OL is awful and the Patriots spent all that off-season money and still don't have a true WR1.

My take is Mac hasn't been his best today. At the same time, there is a lot of poor play going on around him as well (dropped passing, poor blocking). Its a team effort all around for this poor performance.
Welcome to the NFL though, bad games are gonna happen, especially when you are a rookie. Some of it does fall on the coaches and upper management for not addressing the roster issues.
I pray every week Burrow doesn't end up in a wheelchair with that O line
