This is where he sits in the SEC

Points/Game - 3rd (19.8)
Assists/Game - 5th (4.9)
Rebounds/Game - 1st (12.7; next closest is at 9.8)
FG % - 3rd (55.6%)

He's top 5 in every main category. Not sure what he needs to do to be considered "elite". Looks like he's "elite" at 3 major aspects of the game.

Looks pretty damn elite to me, especially for a freshman

I mean I can see how people say this because hes not this prolific shooter that takes over a game like steph curry. Hes not a physically dominant post man a la Anthony Davis. Its just kind of ho hum he got a double double...again....20 and 10...again...but he makes it so consistent game after game that this thread being made literally after every game is getting ridiculous.

Well stated, he doesn't appear to be dominant and take over games when you're watching but the stats are there.

Honestly, there's been several times when a player on the other team stood out to me more but I'm no nba scout nor nba fan licking my chops at his potential. I am simply a college basketball fan.

Kid has a heck of a skill set, and the physical build as well, to be successful over the long term.

No, just no. He is absolutely elite. He has some very raw aspects of his game but he is a very talented player who has a lot asked of him at this point in his career.

Why? Because he isn't flashy? He makes it look easy and is more worried about fundamentals than highlight reels. Most definitely the type of player every coach wants. He will be a player that will be in the NBA for a long, long time.

Yea, a 6'10'' guy with elite guard skills who is averaging 20 pts, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block a game as a true freshman in the SEC is not elite.

Makes sense.

OP is an idiot. Ben Simmons is a great passer, and inside threat. He is an elite college player, and if he gets more physical and works on his outside shot he can be elite in the NBA.

He's elite. An excellent ballplayer. Anyone would be better with him on their team.

My only slight is he is immature with his tantrums and mouth. He jaws a little much for me. If you are good, and know you are good, let your game do all the talking.

Dude reminds me of a poor man's Kerry Kittles
Don't you ever shame Kittles like that again! Kerry Kittles was the best player in the Big East in 1995 and would have been the best in 1996 as well if he had someone else to help him. For Christ's sake he had to Zeffy Penn and Alvin Williams. Not a stellar supporting cast.
