About time for some fans to move on from denial to the anger stage.

Nah. I'd pop you once in your little almond shaped eyes and it would be over.

I remember hearing he had gone to the hospital the night before. But supposedly he was "okay." Some girl came into Biology lab "Bear Bryant died." She knew nothing about football so I was suspect at first.
Sad he died so shortly after he retired and couldn't kick back and enjoy life.
He was the GOAT.

Well that settles it, you're going to hell.
Phan just saw Auburn beat both Bama and UGA in the regular season, only to then see UGA win the SECCG and Bama win the national championship.
He's already in hell.

I think Bear would've kicked that baws arse. Say what you want about the man, he did have standards.

I remember it like yesterday. I was in middle school sitting in class when we found out. One of my female first cousins was a huge Bama fan,her paternal grandmother was from Alabama, and began to cry profusely. Most of the class was made up of a mix of State and Ole Miss fans and we didn't give two craps.

I had a dream that I had died and gone to Heaven. Heaven was the field at BDS. The Bear was leaning against one of the goal posts while Nick Saban was making some poor stupid bastard cry. Then I realized Nick Saban wasn't dead and it was all a dream. So, I made myself wake the frick up and get ready for work.
RMFT.

I remember talking with one his former players a while back and he had told me that Coach Bryant knew he was dying about a year before he died. He was short of breath and could not really catch it and the docs gave him a pretty devastating diagnosis. So much so that he quit smoking and was coming down off the scaffolding and walking around the practice field thinking he could get himself back into shape and buy extra time
He certainly lived life

Re: standing at attention: You all don’t know what a powerful presence the man had. I saw Coach walk up to a gaggle of reporters and TV camera people...and thank them for coming to whatever... and the whole passel of those irreverent, egos fell silent and stood listening to him intently with almost the attitude of acolytes. That was the impression the man had.
The story of “wrong-way Bo.”
1984,Alabama up by 2 late in game but Auburn driving down to the one yd line. Fourth down Dye desides to kick FG...but hears a voice from the heavens...”go for it, Jackson wide, and he shall fulfill the destiny and the righteous shall dwell in happiness.”
So Auburn went for it, Bo ran the wrong way, and the play failed. Alabama took over and ran the clock out to salvage the win after a bad season.
Afterwards, Dye was beseaching heaven.. “why did you tell me to go for it? Why did you tell me to run that play?” There was a pause and the great voice spoke: “Bear, why did we call that play?”

You can always depend on an Auburn fan to be classy.
Coach Bryant was someone's husband, father, son and brother, and he died. Would you think this was funny if it were your family member, and someone wanted to piss on their grave?
