But I completely understand why Bama lives and dies for college football. The residents of the state have nothing else.

Seems like the swamp dwellers live and die for Bama football too.

I've always heard when a bunch of women stay in close proximity to one another their menstrual cycles begin to synchronize. Any thread about Bama that attracts a large number of LSU fans is certainly proof of that.

Go back and read all the Gump threads, about LSU, while you were playing the Iron Bowl

This is a great thread.` I mean, I get not having conference pride. If you don't have it, you don't have it. It doesn't make any sense, mind you -- look at the B10 and Ohio State's path to the CFP for what happens when nobody respects your conference. Having your dignity so shredded that you publicly admit your rival's success has broken you to the point that it's more important for their team to fail than for your team's schedule to look better, though...people throw the word 'melt' around pretty casually, but this is one time that it's undeniably the right word.

Most Vandy fans realize we might not have a prayer of reaching the CFP, ever, but we'd never be so broken as to throw a public melt of these proportions if Tennessee has a resurgence.

Is the reaction from LSU fans surprising? Maybe not. But I would still pull for the Bayou Bengals, my second favorite conference team, if they had a crack at the playoffs. Sorry if you think that is gratuitous, or because of our recent success against LSU, but I have liked LSU since I was a little kid, regardless of whatever comments are made in a thread like this.

I donno, I think it would be amazing to see Alabama get the #1 seed sugar bowl, TCU/Baylor are not the team Alabama wants to play. It would be just amazing to keep the Bama non-title-game-sugar-bowl-losing-streak going

You do realize your only loss is to a team we shellacked right?

Teams I would not root for:

AU - because, AU.
UT - because, the great pumpkin
LSU - because, rant

I don't think I have to worry about LSU and UT for a while. AU is on the rise and will contend, however.

Teams I would root for:
Everyone else.

I love this thread.

I think you have it pretty much figured out. For me I don't ever want Bama, Ole Miss or A&M winning another championship of any kind.

Other than that I'll root for other conference members.
