Everyone has had great suggestions so far and one more I may add is Roberto’s. It’s about 20 minutes from campus but it’s almost just a straight shot down Nicholson Dr. from the Box and it’s my favorite BR restaurant alongside the Chimes. It has an incredible atmosphere and food. Also if you go to the Chimes try to sit on the rooftop if it’s not too hot. Enjoy your visit baw!

Yeah, but it originated in Louisiana. Maybe the coke head owner retired but it was always a top tier experience. With that said there are many others better for strictly local, but as an upscale chain it's a Louisiana staple too.

He said BR, not Norman
Also as mentioned earlier, Phil's Oyster Bar is high on the list and close to campus.

Ruth’s Chris is an international chain now. Originally from New Orleans though. First time I ever had it was in Waikiki. I wouldn’t consider it Louisiana food.

If you haven't been yet, check out Mike the Tiger's habitat between the football stadium and assembly center. Its pretty fricking cool seeing that big arse cat roaming around in there. A lot of good suggestions to eat already. Chimes, Mike Anderson's, Parrain's, all of that is great, plus you can get you some crawfish pretty much anywhere. If you were to just put your general location, we could have you some crawfish in 15 minutes.

If you want a great hole in the wall about 10 minutes from campus go to Pastime

Different. Only one that is privately owned and not under franchise restrictions

Superior Grill on Highland should top the list for Mexican or their Government st location.

It's always been overpriced shitty food. I get better food from a hole in the wall place. Far cheaper and better food.

Appreciate all the great recommendations. Gonna be tough to decide; I might have to figure out how I can parlay this short trip into 4-5 meals!
Definitely want to see the campus and see the football stadium. Of course I’m familiar w Mike the Tiger but for some reason thought that was just during football season; will definitely go tell him hello.
Thanks again, really appreciate all this.
