I'm saying when we came in this conference, we were the first real threat Kentucky had at the top of the league. Arkansas ended a long home winning streak that spanned 3 years for UK on our first trip to Rupp.

We played for two national titles in our first 3 years in the league. Until Richardson was fired, Arkansas/Kentucky was a marquee game each year on CBS.

Maybe you are just too young, I don't know. Arkansas has been mediocre at best since Richardson left, but we have a nice basketball history ourselves even if you think our conference titles don't count.

We have won on the national level as well as conference level. One of only a dozen or so teams all time with 40 or more NCAA tourney wins. It wasn't just the SWC where we won. Our first Final Four was in 1946.

Oh I'm sorry, you just claim SWC titles instead.

You faux flagshippers don't want to throw around stats with tBasketball Flagship of the SEC.

We don't claim shite, we earned every one of them, we are not Bama or Aggy fans claiming shite 50-60 years after the games were played.

No one is trying to run down the accomplishments of Kentucky Basketball like they are Arkansas Basketball, we acknowledge you to be a top 3 basketball program of all time, why others have a problem with acknowledging us as being a the top 10 program we are we do not know, or care.

Welcome to the bizzaro world of Hog logic. They do this with other sports as well. If they have a bad coach those seasons dont count towards anything and especially dont count against their "storied tradition". Its as if they never happened.

Its quite pathetic.

LSU disagrees.

Not at all. No one is saying Arkansas hasn't had a decent program. Maybe that's where your insecurities are getting your panties in a bundle? We're just saying it can't hold Kentucky's jock strap consistently as proven by your lack of competition for better than a decade.

Please. We won 18 of our first 19 games against LSU when we joined the league.

Er. Your fellow flagshipper is claiming that Arkansas coulda, shoulda, woulda competed with Kentucky consistently had you entered the conference earlier.

You haven't even been able to do it consistently since you arrived late.

And you're not the first to compete (and I use this term loosely) with Kentucky at the top of the conference like was claimed. Try to keep up.

SEC team not named Kentucky to win a national title in NCAA tourney play?

Since UK had all this competition

But using Hog logic it should apparently only be half that if they had just entered the conference a smidge earlier then they did.

Most of the lists I've found have Alabama ranked ahead of LSU in the all time basketball program rankings.

It is a wide gap between these two and Arkansas...

FWIW, I have said nothing negative about UK in this thread. I even said they were "far and away the best team in the conference." Has nothing to do with coulda, woulda, shoulda whatever. Arkansas was a good basketball program that competed nationally before the SEC.

Florida? Twice?

SWC teams not named Arkansas to win a national title in NCAA Tournament play?

Nobody said that retread.

Our point is discrediting all of our conference titles and prior accomplishments just because it wasn't in the SEC.

For over half of Kentucky's time in the SEC, they had no real competition. No team outside of UK won a national title until Arkansas in 1994.

Except for the claim that you would've been competing with Kentucky for conference title numbers if you had entered the conference earlier.

Don't try to backpedal on your herp derp now.

So how many SWC teams in your time there won a National Championship in Basketball in the NCAA Tournament?

Maybe the reason your boys didn't nab but two conference titles since you've entered the SEC is because your competition in the SWC was far worse then anything we've been in the SEC?

I'm not discrediting your prior conference titles either so I don't know why you keep hammering that one home. What I am saying is that your boy is full of shite when he claims Arkansas would've been competing with Kentucky in the number of conference titles had they entered the conference earlier.
