Did the NCAA dock us some schollies and I didn't hear about it? Was definitely 65 last year.

There are only a few of us programs that make money on baseball. Most programs could never come up with the money, unfortunately

Every single Power 5 school can afford it. It's the other 250 schools that prevent it from happening.

I think 25 is a reasonable number.

Would only benefit power 5
Mid majors and big ten won’t vote for this and neither will pac 12
Just like they blocked extra assistant coach

How can you argue against baseball affording scholarships all the while having women’s scholarships? I don’t disagree, but let’s be honest at least.

Additionally, this is a reason that the power 5 needs to abandon the rest of the teams. There’s no reason for the big state schools to be held back due to the money of the Jacksonville states and Middle tennessee states.

Title XI is so outdated. Mental patients can now compete as girls anyway. Give baseball 25 or 30.

15 full schollies and 10 schollies that can be halved to allow 35 players to be on scholly.

Why can’t they all get scholarships? Give every single athlete a full ride if the school desires.

Money and Title 9 make this a problem.

Change the name to women's baseball. Problem solved.

Then don’t make it a requirement, give the ones that want to the ability though.

Well you have to have a limit, otherwise you’d have schools having every top talent on one team.

But you could make it a limit on the number of total players at 35 or so and then say all 35 of those get scholarships.

Make baseball a coed sport and any women that can make the team can get scholarships.

If a coach signs a minority player, that player should get a full scholarship that doesn’t count against the limit. The NCAA wants diversity. Put that ball in their court.

Didn’t know there was any rules keeping women from playing men’s sports, just men from playing women’s sports.

I listened to Taylor Twellman on ESPN break down why we aren’t getting Lebron of Soccer. Said it was because of the financial barrier to join. The camps and clubs cost too much for poorer kids to join, then all the traveling and tournament fees. I wonder if that’s why you hardly see American kids from inner cities playing baseball?

While football and basketball are relatively cheap and/or funded by major athletic apparel companies.

Why not make softball coed? It already is in every other level except HS. Then the transgender issue becomes a moot point.

All kidding aside, they need to add scholarships for women’s softball too.

I am glad that women’s sports are doing well these days but softball is one area that they are getting the short shift.

Reduce football scholarships to 75 and take football out of the equation. Then you can raise both baseball and softball scholarships to a reasonable level.

Take away some scholarships from football. There's only about 50 something players that get usually get PT anyways. Take about 10 scholarships away from football and allocate them towards baseball.

Didn't Tre Morgan and Dylan Crews agree to receive cash payments instead of full scholarships?
