Astros lost a lot of its season ticket holders during the tank job and local tv deal negotiation. Its taken time to build the fanbase back up. Add in that MMP is in the low 40s and not high 40s and 50s then you don't have those big weekends to bring the average up.

For 2018 - St Louis is 3rd, KC is 19th.

What's perplexing about not wanting to watch, what amounts to basically high-school ball, and opting for one of our two professional teams.

In 2017.......
Georgia Tech : 1,306
Miami : 2,625
Minnesota : 839
Arizona State : 2,542
UCLA : 875
Washington : 775
Cal : 748
Stanford : 1,488
Southern Cal : 619
Rice : 2,372
Northwestern : 445
TCU : 4,823

Those are all schools in cities with professional baseball teams literally in the city. All of them but Northwestern drew more than Missouri is.

Missouri's numbers are basically bottom 10 in P5 baseball.

It's cool that you guys hate college baseball, but you aren't normal amongst other states with MLB teams. Those state schools draw more than you.

I gotcha.
Thanks for the explanation.
Our numbers (state of Texas) could be higher, but it’s not accurate to say “no one goes.”

That’s seriously impressive. Good on them for coming out and supporting the team.

You're also comparing schools in a metropolitan area. Apples and oranges with regards to CoMo.

All pro teams have them. Let's see how St Louis fills the park after going through what Houston did.

Yall have looked pretty mediocre since losing your golden goose then trying to steal some of his info back.

Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, etc etc

Again, it's cool if you guys don't like college baseball, but other places with the exact same setup draw much better. It's not because KC and STL are 2 hours away. It's because Mizzou doesn't like college baseball. At all.

That argument loses when you look at the MS schools.

I mean that's fine, but lets not act like kids at Mizzou were flocking to Royals games instead of Mizzou games.

Nobody gave a shite about the Royals went they were bad.

Hell, Atlanta averaged 25K, 25K, 31K and 32.5K the last 4 years during our awful seasons and we are a "terrible sports town".

Jeff's players are gone. He's built a machine in Houston. Why do you think you hired Mike Girsch last year? You're trying to get back what Jeff had.

Well, they are about to miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd straight time for the first time since the start of the La Russa era. Meanwhile, Houston is giving away MLB caliber players (see Tucker, Preston) because they have too many of them and not enough 40 man roster spots.

I think Luhnow wins

Jesus Christ.

My argument was against the list of schools he had. None of which were in Mississippi.

jesus Christ dude, we're a week and half into a 6 month season. To comment on what you said, the cardinals made moves to contend for the division, I dont think we will because of how the good the cubs are, but we are well positioned for a wild card.

Also, if you dont think the cardinals are gearing up for a monster next 5 years, you dont follow the MLB.

It's true.

We also have guys in our bullpen who would be in most teams top 3 or 4. (see Peacock was 13-2 with 3.00 ERA in '17)

Speaking of Tucker, I always liked him. He just couldn't see to field a decent LF and couldn't hit LHP at all.
