That shite is just perplexing. I know the weather is bad and the Royals and Cards and all that, but in high school we literally had that many people in the stands at a Tuesday night baseball game in March.
1500 people, 1250 people, even 1000 people. I'd get that. 469?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

Still snowing is not helping attendance

Looks like something else Mizzou is behind Kentucky in.

I mean they can't even get 50% of their football stadium filled nowadays or fill their dorms

I think softball is there thing but to lazy to look up their attendance.

A mediocre marketing push (e.g., free hot dogs for all students after the 7th inning) could fix that in a second.
Just means Mizzou doesn’t care about baseball numbers.
Their loss.
A good-sized passel of our students live for baseball season.
(I used to schedule my classes around Tuesday games).

What's perplexing about not wanting to watch, what amounts to basically high-school ball, and opting for one of our two professional teams.
I'm curious why the state of Texas doesn't support its professional teams? Can't even crack the top ten with those two markets.

On what are you basing this?

I was on campus thru grad school and never once attended a baseball game. If we wanted to see a game we drove two hours in either direction.

Ive never heard one student even mention going to a mizzou baseball game.
In fact, mizzou students have little problem driving 2 hours to the K or busch stadium for a spring MLB game.
Im sure theres different ways of fixing the attendance. but the problem is college baseball is just slow and boring, and until thats fixed, you wont be seeing many missouri folks.

Two huge markets and no one who goes to games.
Posted on 4/9/18 at 2:51 pm to SEC. 593
No one goes to Astros or Rangers games?

Texas?
Texans have sold out every single game ever. They've never not had a sellout. Is there another team that can say that?
Rockets - Attendance is middle of the pack, but our arena isn't huge. We're at 99.2% capacity this year.
Astros - It's early but we're looking at ~94% capacity and #6 overall.
So you were saying?

Faster than MLB with the pitch clock.

According to ESPN the Rangers where 12th in attendance and Houston was 15th.
With that market size you figure they be near the top.
Thought this was baseball thread? What the frick does the Rockets have to do with anything?

Makes sense.
That’s where marketing and traditions come in.
Our fans are as much a part of the game as are the players on the field.
Regardless of what others think of the environment at Blue Bell Park (and Kyle Field), the antics shared amongst the fans put butts in seats; students love that stuff.

i guess what im about to say is espns numbers must not only be incorrect, but way off. says you averaged 29,674 per for a 41,168 seated venue.
Posted on 4/9/18 at 2:55 pm to Farmer1906
I dont mean slow as in time span, just slow as in game play/pace

Honestly we draw more on average for softball games. That's sad.
