The game against Ole Miss was impressive. Other than that, I don't see much of a difference from last season.
Gave up 34 to Texas after allowing 19 last season. LSU would have likely scored 35 points if not for the hit on Daniels. Did much better job against Tenner, but the Vols' offense is nowhere near what it was last season with Hooker.

I get why we didn’t. Bama’s front 7 was the best we’ll see this year, but man. It’s 4th and 1. You have a strong OL. Sneak it or give it to Josh Williams who has been so good in between the tackles.

So the Vols, who have a pretty solid rushing attack, struggled to get the ball moving on the ground...
LSU, who had the #1 overall offense, was held to 28 (or 35 in the mythical world where we guarantee JD5 another touchdown if he doesn't get injured)
But our first big game of the year, from which we have clearly improved, is still the measuring stick?
I think anyone that has closely watched Bama this year vs. last year can tell that there are less busted coverages, and that our defense is playing faster and more aggressively. Last year, they looked lost / confused on about 50% of the snaps...

Story wasn't ready to play in a game like that against dudes like LSU had. He had a really rough go of it once he had to come on.
He hasn't showed he's championship level YTD.

Completely agree from a talent perspective, but he's been in the program 1 year longer than McKinstry and Arnold. At this point, he should be situationally aware enough to guard the endzone with 15 seconds left before halftime

Another big component: games against Texas, LSU, Ole Miss and Tenner were all on the road last season. This year, all four were at Bama.

Absolutely

Your 2nd half adjustment was to knock JD5 out of the game. LSU likely puts up another TD with him in

Alabama Defense vs FEI Top 25 Offenses
2023 : 22.4 PPG, 389 YPG (5 games, avg rank #14)
2022 : 28.8 PPG, 414 YPG (6 games, avg rank #13)
Pete had no issue with bad offenses (most of the time). We overwhelmed Vandy, State, etc.

Fify. Alabama didn't adjust shite to stop us in the 2nd half. They got a great tip and a dropped pass to bail them out. Jayden had yall by the nutsack all game.

Want to switch defenses?

So the two prior drives that resulted in a punt and INT dont count right ?

He may have thrown another pick that drive given how LSU needed to throw most downs since they were behind two TD's. Just giving him another TD seems generous given how the half was going.

I guess the opening drive to start the half where he marched it right down the field didn't count either lol

You reek of melt
Imagine acting like you figured out out a qb after giving up 382 apy before the 4th quarter lol

It did count, that's why it was on the scoreboard. Your hypothetical TDs didn't count though...
