It made me laugh every time I saw it plus I was worried someone at work would see it and get offended

For such a great defense at Alabama they have no sacks in the past two games against much inferior olines.
I'd respond by pointing out that we run a 3-4 defense, but you probably don't even know what that means, so it isn't worth it.

The Tide won a BCS title in large part because of Marcel Dareus's sack of Colt McCoy. You don't have that kind of athlete on your DL anymore, bottom line.

There's not many Dareus' out there, but I see you point.

The cheap shot on McCoy certainly didn't hurt their efforts...

Even the NC team did not sack the QB much, especially from the DL players. Saban had more disruptive players on the DL at LSU.

I wouldn't call it a cheap shot. I was actually surprised that Colt was as injured as he was because of the hit. It was just a good play.

But you at least had a decent amount of TFL. That has been missing for the last two years now.

Yeah you're right.
3-4 is a high risk/high reward defense. You use 3 DL and 4 DB's to back up the main front of the defense... The LB's.
The Dline consists of a Nose tackle, DE(usually more molded as a DT) and a DT. It thrives on continuous pressure on the QB ib hopes of forcing mistakes for the secondary to capitalize on. Rarely will you see a 3-4 go zone unless they pull the nickel package or drop a LB into coverage. At Times the Jack LB will line up a DE.
The Jack LB is a key component to the 3-4 and is usually the verbal leader of the defense. He can make plays from either his LB position or line up with his hand in the dirt.
3-4 uses packages that include rushing 5. Most of the time each reach their assignment and force the play(run up the middle) to bounce outside where the 5th blitzer makes the play. However, if the FB or TE prevents a blitzer from reaching his assignment then it results in high reward for the offense.
So please inform me of the 3-4 Mr. 37 ACT.

Saban never ran a 3-4 at LSU.

You and Booby Moore must be brothers. You both consistently stink up every UF thread.

hey now that is below the belt. frick you

They have always got a lot of TFL, just not a lot of sacks. It haz always been an issue with his defenses at Alabama for some reason. He has just not been able to land a lot of disruptive guys on the DL.

Poor recruiting and/or player development...

Stop stinking up the UF threads and I'll stop calling you "Booby Moore's baby brother".

Both teams are overrated. They are living off the reputation of the old SEC teams. Neither team is top 20 material and this will be shown versus Bama.

It's true to a certain extent. Most of the highly regarded DL he has not been able to sign. However I also think he has looked at different kinds of DL after switching to the 3-4.
