Well, it's different because the coach during 4 of those 5 games was Mike Shula and our new coach was Nick Saban.

right, so this has more to do with Nick Saban and less to do with Alabama/LSU. I'm just curious when some of the Alabama fanbase will no longer feel the need to post multiple threads like this every single day. Y'all have won a lot, we get it

How legit are titles during the WWII era? Honest question. I've never looked into that, but wondered how much of an impact there was on college and pro sports during that time.

ok, so the wheels on the bus go round and round round and round, right?

Bus had no wheels.

It was on cinderblocks in the front yard.

We were losing 5 straight games to every halfway decent team we played during that period.

Bama fans knew it. LSU fans were in their typical state of pie in the sky denial, claiming they'd rather have Miles than Saban. Even saw some comparing Miles to Bear Bryant.

well this is all bullshite, but ok

Well, it is the offseason, so I would guess the topic of us winning a lot will probably be posted about as often as LSU people posting about having a bunch of players back and next year being title or bust.

It's kinda how the yearly cycle of this board works.

Probably when we stop winning the NC at least every other year.

In my 5 years of school

0-5 vs LSU
0-5 vs Auburn
1-4 vs Tennessee

Those were basically the only 3 programs we played every year that were good teams over that period (and our only win over Tennessee was the year they went 5-6).

We also lost to Georgia, split with Florida, split with South Carolina. The only teams we dominated were Ole Miss, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

i mean at least discussing the 2016 season is somewhat relevant to the rest of the conference. jerking off about the success of one program could probably be done on a team board. i know it's the offseason, but it's basically the same discussion every day.

I hate bama as much as the next AU fan but I do have to give credit to yall's media department. Put out some pretty sweet graphics

AU's has been solid recently but the whole "Auburn Fast" thing gets old when we don't even go fast anymore

That's pretty much how this board is all of the time.

I'm not agreeing with it, but this isn't new or some sort of Alabama specific thing.

And Tennessee.

even Tennessee found a way to lose to Alabama twice in that time period and needed 5 OTs to win one of the games

I agree it is getting old but I would still take this over the week leading up to the Bama/LSU game.

We also lost to teams like NIU, UCF, and Hawaii during that period. We weren't beating many teams.

NIU, UCF, Hawaii, ULM, La Tech 2x, Minnesota, Oklahoma State (bad Oklahoma State)

We sucked balls. And back then everyone asked us why we lived in the past, now everyone wants us to live in the past.

I can't answer for other programs but Bama's claim to 1941 is utter bullshait. All but the most Updyke of fans acknowledge that fact, which is why the OP pointed out the 1941 ring.

IMO, the impact of the war doesn't lessen the quality of those with legitimate claims to titles (Minnesota, Georgia & tOSU, Notre Dame, and Army). They were simply better than the competition those years.
