Well then, bye Cam. If the felony sticks there is no way he remains on the team.

They needed stack of cash for the trifecta drug dealer arrest combo.

Really? That is exactly what it sounds like Sitting in a park, after the park is closed, with weed out and gun on your lap.

I dont know how to make it sound more like a drug deal

Reasonable philosophy but it rarely happens here. People live and troll over the misery, mistakes, and downright dumb choices. There's no reason to have a celebration over two young men making poor choices. Yes, they must be held accountable but it's sad that people get excited over this.

i don't think having a gun out for a minor drug deal is very common or rational

I assume that all jokes aside everyone here realizes that trying to explain he didn't know the gun was stolen. I can't imagine the University President would even hesitate to send these guys packing for ridin dirty with a gun (stolen or not).

Yea, I'm sure you scan the Louisiana police blotters and celebrate each morning for all the felons that are arrested across the state.

I do read the booking report every morning.

What? How did you get drug deal from what the cop wrote? It sounded like the two kids were sitting in the car smoking weed the cop walked up on them saw a gun and they all got arrested

I'm speculating that this is the angle they will try to push with the gun on Jones' lap with the two bags of weed in the car along with the other gun under the seat. If they were just smoking weed why have the pistol in plain sight on your lap? Regardless of whatever was going on it's sad that kids make these poor choices and end up hurting themselves.

The question us though how will Saban punish them?

there is a precedent for this.

Like that DB a ways back, Cam will probably be suspended for the 1st half of the opener. Hootie is shitty, so he's prolly gone.

Can you give an example on a legit reason for having a stolen firearm under your seat while smoking dope in the middle of the night next to a park?

Having a stolen firearm can be explained by purchasing from someone you thought had legitimate ownership of the weapon they sold you. That may not be the situation here, but let's not act like that's never happened before. The rest of it really needs no explanation. Smoking weed should be legal and they aren't going to lock someone up over that. Having a gun is legal so I don't care about that. A charge for having a gun while smoking weed just seems like a crappy way to jam people up.

there is a minimum but if he pleads i doubt he pleads to THAT charge

Pretty obvious he will deal for a lesser charge but what is realistic? I'd assume the fact this gun charge isn't being tacked onto a violent crime charge is helping him.

I remember all sorts of rumors of Cam all of the sudden driving a King Ranch F250 around the time he committed to Bama.

There was an actual pic of a truck on the RB at that time.

countless reasons. Maybe he just wanted it in his lap or was looking at it. A drug deal assumption is quite a leap.

You mean DJ Hall (a wide receiver, not a defensive back), who was suspended for violation of team rules (aka smoking pot) in 2007? That's the precedent for two guys getting arrested for weed and guns in the offseason of 2016?

Oh, you just wanted to perform a sub-par troll. Nevermind.

This puts Bama in a good light. Cam had to steal the gun.

An OM player would've paid cash.

The way that violence and drugs has overwhelmed "urban" culture is tragic. Here you have two young men with all the daily advantages we all wish we would have had, in the absolutely PERFECT framework for success, and they can't wait to screw it up. Nick and The University (or any University for that matter) gives them every chance to succeed, perfect their craft, and make millions, to the point where it's almost impossible to frick it up. And still they frick it up. It just boggles the mind.

It's just more of the same Cultural Fail we all see on the local nightly news every single night. These guys let down their community, their teammates, their coaches, their University , their families and most importantly themselves.

I get no pleasure from this. frick Bama and all that. But still no pleasure.
