A search did not find anything on this site (I used the TD Benjamin Franklin search engine). Everyone knows this anyway.

quote:

According to a CBS News report, an NCAA conspiracy theory is blaming over-inflated basketball for all the #1 seeds being upset and knocked out of the tournament.

quote:

Now, Oats also made it clear that the San Diego St. defense was a bigger reason to blame for the loss than the basketball size. A recent report from the Associated Press had this response from Coach Nate Oats: “We’ve kind of had the discussion as a staff,” Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats said Thursday. “You can pump up any ball to be too hard. It would be great if the referees actually made sure it was within the guidelines of how hard it’s supposed to be because, obviously, if you pump it up to where it’s a rock, you’re not going to shoot as well.”

Oh, also ETA: ^that’s bait

Seriously though, those EVO NXT balls straight out of the box are terrible, especially if they put too much air in them.

That’s a new one for Bama. Nice change from the “we wuz hurt” whine. But not quite as unique as the Tennessee “ it started raining and the grass was too long in Sanford Stadium” gem.

Then both teams would not shoot it as well, I would imagine. But I digress.

That said, if you're a CBB fan at all then you'd also know that almost every single week of the regular season a good chunk of the Top 25 was getting upset. It was easy to prognosticate that the NCAA Tournament would be chaotic this year without any team really standing out as unbeatable.

This isn’t the first and last year all number one seeds got upset.

Sometimes the overall landscape of college basketball for a season doesn’t have any dominant teams throughout the season.

Some Alabama fans on here thought they were gonna 2018 Nova to the title.

People will move on from the Bama face flop in the game. What they won’t move on from is Bama’s playing an accomplice to murder. Bama’s rep is in the sewer

It's not like overinflated balls wouldn't favor a team that tends to take layups over teams that like to shoot 3's, but I have to admit this is one of the weakest excuses I have ever heard.

Bama really needs work on their excuse making. By now you’d think they would be better at it
