. Honest question here. Do OU fans generally think Rattler is better than mayfield/Murray? I honestly haven’t seen the guy play except for the UF bowl game.

Edited for lack of typing skills when the fricking dog jumps up in the chair with me.

The only thing that saved Oklahoma from a probable shutout was Murrays scrambling ability in the last meeting. They could not run the ball and they could not pass block either Murray doing a waterbug imitation was all they had.

Spencer Rattler ain't Murray and this will be a VERY good Alabama D, the best he will face all year by far should they meet. His pretty white pants will get all dirty and he won't be used to it.

I doubt OU gets three TD's if they do they won't get any more. They better be good on D.

Committee will be tired of OU shitting the bed and award #4 spot to pac 12 champ this year….

PAC 12 champ was below Cincinnati and Coastal Carolina in 2020.

In my opinion, which means nothing, he’s a better QB. He can’t move like Murray and hasn’t yet been the leader that Baker was. But, his arm is quite a bit better than those two. He moves well enough to get him out of trouble, but really isn’t a runner. He caught some blame early last year, but I felt that he played well enough to win in both the losses. He did throw a few bad pics early in the year, but really made good decisions down the stretch. We were also missing our best two RB’s in the losses, which put more pressure on him. For me, in 2021, my biggest question mark is our Oline. I’m also hopeful that our defense co ti yes to progress. I’m definitely not ready to claim a spot in the title game.

Oklahoma in a playoff game?

If you guys were playing Buffalo, I'd take Buffalo to win. Oklahoma has a serious phobia of playoff games.

Serious question - do you guys even get into it with the American Conference level fanbases in your league outside of Texas? Like what does a shite talk fest with Iowa State, Baylor or Kansas State even look like?

The level of shite talk from the majority of you is so damn pathetic I've just assumed that you aren't used to having to battle it out with other fanbases that have even the least bit of material to shoot back at you with.

The answer from any OU fan that also has a football IQ at all is "no". At a minimum not yet with what little we've seen from Rattler. He definitely has the arm and the skills, but is nowhere close to Baker or Kyler yet. On paper, this should be his real coming out year. The kid waiting at #2 is possibly better.

Yea that's kind of the point. Texas at least has had to deal with Aggie in addition to OU.

Oklahoma basically just deals with Texas. There's nobody else even in the same stratosphere that has any ammo to talk shite back with.

Spencer didn’t have the oline last year that kyler or baker had. Nor did he have the rushing attack that those two benefited from. Plus, our recieving core dropped a ton of balls last year. Kyler and baker benefited from Ceedee lamb, while Spencer’s number one target last year was a true freshman. People forget baker losing to Houston and Iowa st.

I’m being honest brother, not saying I’m right, but I’m honest. Hard to compare skill positions from year to year. For me, it comes down to the kinematics.

Our players didn’t shake Baker Mayfield’s hand before the game and he literally melted the entire game and got suspended

Agreed sir! Even us Sooner fans disagree at times. At the end of the day, the QB position isn’t what has limited OU. We’ve got to continue to get better of defense. I think Grinch has them headed the right direction
