I must say, for a program that needs fan support, they do all they can to turn away potential new fans. I've been to just about every SEC stadium, but the worst I was treated was at a UAB game.

So do any of AUs other campuses have a FB team?
Just asking.

Are you comparing AUM's NAIA athletic program to FBS CUSA UAB?

UAB should look to end UAt's football program as well.

outside of maybe 20 or so P5 schools. All football programs lose money

Actually the opposite is true. All FBS schools make shite tons of money.

First they cry about HUNH and now they're afraid of little old UAB?

That doesn't seem fair...... After all, ULM allows ULL to keep their team.

I am sick and fricking tired of hearing about UAB football. They have bigger daddy issues than Auburn.

Apparently a bunch of your fans really hate Alabama fans. Hell, I was even wearing a green shirt but had a UA hat on.

there's no way in hell UAB would ever give up the med school

They will if the system's board of trustees says they have to.

For the group of people that are actually UAB fans first, do you really blame them?

I see they weren't content on just blocking them from getting their own stadium. But it shouldn't surprise anyone. Just because you give a Bama fan alot of money doesn't mean he gets any morals.

From a fan base that was giving away free tickets? I would think they would be glad anyone came to watch and actually cheer for their shitty team.

Bama has the law school, UAB has the med school. We also have a football team.

I have never really understood why UAB does not try to work out a shared venue arrangement with Samford. Samford stadium seats around 7000 now but could easily expand to 15,000. It is in a beautiful, safe location.

Alabama also has the ability to take both of those things away from UAB.

Not really. If they tried to take the med school back, which is a laughable and unpractical notion, UAB would break away. Now that this whole abolishing the football program issue is public, there will be backlash from the city of Birmingham and if the issue is pushed I wouldn't be surprised if that leads to breaking away itself.

About as laughable as UAB "breaking away." As if all they have to do is change the name and replace a few signs. Some of you AU/UAB sidewalks have gone completely off the deep end.
