history of college football suggests he should go now. leave on top. not one single coach has had a graceful exit and no school has pulled off a graceful transition.

honestly not alot of people transition to retirement on their terms. Saban should take on that challenge and step away. Be a champion of retirement. Make retirements arse quit.

I am just pointing out its a great time to do something really historical. Leave on top and help program remain elite. Has never been done.

Why do you have 4 straight posts in your own troll thread?

How sad is that?

just making sure the argument is fully displayed. Sabans a good man. He shouldnt be so terrified of retirement. Should overcome his fears there.

Great time for him to reconnect with family be a grandad and make up for time lost to coaching.

first of all you are a DA and shouldn't be watching college FB much less be commenting on it. Bear had all kind of health issues. NS is in good mental and physical health. I think NS would know when to retire and that is when he feels he no longer can keep up with the younger coaches. And so far he has no problems. NC just hired Mack and LSU just hired Les and they are similar in age to NS

When you cant keep up its already too late. I think he needs to be very proactive here. Needs to spend his golden years with people that care about him. Not give it away to a bunch of people that just want a new coach-statue.

but you have repeated yourself in numerous replies to yourself. Duh. NOw I know you are setting the shiny hook which I figured you were doing earlier.

I have a man at work who works 32 hours a week cuz he loves working. He is 90 years old. He works circles with his energy level that most guys much younger then him do.

well that sounds sad to me. i bet if that man and Saban slowed down a bit they could find better ways to take care of themselves. You sound like you are enabling this guy to take his health for granted like Bama nation.

Its really kinda irresponsible not to acknowledge phyical truths. And often leads to premature catastrophic endings.

Bryant has become a figurehead way before 1980 though. Saban is still grinding every day, heavily involved in all aspects of the program. I think he is self aware enough to know when he can’t do it at this level anymore. The two aren’t comparable in this way.

LOL just keep casting that shinny hook, Ok I'll bite! Quote.... "history of college football suggests he should go now. leave on top. not one single coach has had a graceful exit and no school has pulled off a graceful transition." LOL WRONG ... there have been many who retired while successful and schools remained successful …. Darrell Royal- Texas, Frank Broyles - Arkansas, Bud Wilkerson and Barry Switzer - Oklahoma, Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne - Nebraska, Frank Leahy and Ara Parseghian - Notre Dame to name just a few! You should do a little research before making such inane comments! As a matter of fact your original comment is just ludicrous …. Bama had a great football program before Saban and in all likelihood will have a great program after Saban!

Bama has more titles in the Saban era than your team will ever have.

We good.
