Explain, I don't understand.
Bama, and other SEC schools that have the max 85 on scholarship, are signing full recruiting classes each year and then cutting guys that were on scholarship. For instance, assume Bama, or anyone else, was at the 85 limit and were losing a total of 14 juniors and seniors, but they signed and enrolled 25 new recruits. They then have to cut 11 players to get all of the new recruits in under the 85 limit. If they didn't cut those players, they wouldn't be able to sign 25 new recruits and those recruits would go to other schools. Hope that makes sense.

I pretty much understand that, I think. I don't understand why he believes

huge reason for disparity on the field as well

All schools are not created equal. OSU has many recruiting advantages over Minn.,Wyoming, Vanderbilt, etc. Should the NCAA step in to make sure everybody is on a level playing field?

Bama and the rest are 100% within the rules. Until the rules are changed, how can it be considered an unfair advantage? All schools have the option to do the exact same thing.

it is a miracle Texas hasn't lost more players due to the fiasco they have right now.

Even though some players are cut, Saban has not broken the rules. And he also has never screwed a player over. He helps them transfer. He will put them on a medical scholarship(which has to be approved by a doctor and the NCAA). Or whatever else is needed. He does not just cut players and toss them to the curb. He does what he can to help them succeed outside of football.

Transferring? who?

Oh, I don't have any actual names...but if you look at the roster, its hard to find 10-15 guys that you would naturally assume are "expendable" scholarship players. All you'll see are a lot of guys who were big catches in former recruiting classes.

I'm not trying to bash Saban or Bama, all I said was if teams, especially SEC teams, kept this practice up and did it with a significant number of players every year (not just 1 or 2) then the SEC or NCAA is probably going to change the rules.

ETA: FTR, I assume that AU would probably do this to some extent as well if we were even at the 85 limit yet.

Adrian Hubbard, mark that shite down.

Also, if Scott were to transfer, wouldn't he have done it before the bowl?

I think you don't understand what he is saying because you are being defensive. He never mentioned an unfair advantage or breaking any rules. All he said was that if teams like Bama and other SEC teams didn't do this, the talent gap wouldn't be as wide and their wouldn't be as big a disparity on the feild because those recruits would go elsewhere.

I assumed he was equating talent gap with unfair advantage, maybe I was wrong.

I'm certainly not defesive, must not have conveyed my thoughts well

Oh I know you weren't. That wasn't directed at you or anyone in particular. Just for anyone that may believe that Saban just dumps kids or whatever else they want to think

Maybe he was, I guess I just didn't assume that.

One could argue it is unfair, I suppose, but it is within the rules right now. If Bama keeps abusing the rule though, that loophole will be closed soon.

We all know that the SEC enjoys its loopholes.

Bama can spare a LB or two, only have about 30 LB's on the team.

You'll have to contact the coaching staff for a price check on them. Prices may vary depending on star ranking, age, year, race, sexuality, size(Both overall and penis), looks, and religion.
