It matters in that if you are efficient and play at a fast tempo it limits your susceptibility to losing to lesser teams. There was an article in the Athletic about it last March I believe. It makes sense in that if you are creating more chances you will limit the chances of fluky results. May hurt Bama against the Zags of the world but should bode well for them early in the tournament.

Good explanation. Thank you

Yep - we've become a pretty good all around basketball team

HUGE improvement over the previous coaching staff. I'm not happy about it but it is what it is.

We're ranked in the coaches poll and we're high up in receiving votes in the last ap poll

Because that level of 3 point shooting is not sustainable. It makes them competitive when they are hot and susceptible when they are not.

It’s funny to see LSU and bama fans talking about being ranked in college basketball. The SEC has made a nice commitment to basketball, hopefully we start getting some respect.

Except we haven't just been competitive, we've been blowing the doors off people.

If we shoot at an average clip we're still probably sitting at 5-1 right now. That's part of the whole philosophy of shooting more 3s. Not to mention this is a very good shooting team that was in a miserable awful slump to start the season. The last month is much more in line with their abilities than the first month+ was.

When you combine that with a Top 15 defense, you've got a pretty good team.

Also, we are creating a ton of looks that are so wide open they're practically shootaround 3s. It's not like we are making a dozen step back 30 footers every night.
