LSU and Alabama will be ranked Monday

It's the opposite of football - football teams get the benefit of the doubt, basketball you get none

They weren’t a top 25 by the metrics until this week.

Lost to a very average Stanford team by 20 and a bad Western Kentucky team at home.

They will be ranked this week.

Yes, we needed to win both games this week to solidify things. And we won them both in dominating fashion - which is why our KP is now in the Top 20. So, I suspect that will be rewarded.

The sec is not respected and it is certainly going to be even more disrespected when their belle of the ball Kentucky is not good

Nothing we can do if they don’t miss. Western Kentucky is a good team.

Read this earlier.

Over the last seven-game stretch, the Tide has made 81 treys, the opponents 39.

They're not awful but they aren't good.

It's Bassey and a bunch of bums. We played a miserable game that day.

Did you see this? I thought it was pretty neat.

That ending was the most Alabama basketball thing ever.

Yep - we've become a pretty good all around basketball team. I'm not sure why tempo matters in that 3 way stat pack but I'll accept it

We're one of 7 or 8 teams in the top 20 of offensive and defensive efficiency right now. Solid group.

Not really. They have one good player. KenPom has them 87th in America and 3rd in C USA. They have losses to Charlotte and La Tech in the last 2 weeks.

It matters in that if you are efficient and play at a fast tempo it limits your susceptibility to losing to lesser teams. There was an article in the Athletic about it last March I believe. It makes sense in that if you are creating more chances you will limit the chances of fluky results. May hurt Bama against the Zags of the world but should bode well for them early in the tournament.

Yea, I know it's relevance in terms of predictive usage and generally identifying who is fluky and is susceptible to getting sped up, but in terms of comparisons it's hard for me to accept

Like it was mentioned earlier, in basketball, other than Kentucky, no inflated ranking is ever given.
Bama could finish the season with Gonzaga in that top 20 category, go 17-1 in the SEC, win the SEC tournament, and may get a #3 or #2 seed in the tournament. 0 chance fie a 1.

I think that loss flipped the light on for our team. They’ve been on a tear since then.
