There's alot more depth at Bama than there was last year.
Inexperienced depth, yes. There will also be some pretty inexperienced starters.

The offense should be able to take some of the pressure off the defense next season as well
Depends on how well McCarron does in his role, and I can't see it being easy to replace Richardson.

it's possible next year can finish 10 to 12 wins.
Anything is possible, but I see around 10 wins.

You haven't watched or know too much about Bama's team if you think this.

Players looking to start/play alot for Bama next season: Adrian Hubbard (saw him get a little bit of playing time), Xzavier Dickson (saw him a little during the NC game I think, not much before that), Trey DePriest, CJ Moseley, Tana Patrick, John Atchinson, John Fulton, Hesean Clinton-Dix, Landon Collins, Travell Dixon, Eddie Williams, TJ Yeldon, Dee Hart, Cyrus Kouandjio. Of course people like CJ Moseley, Dee Milliner, Vinnie Sunseri, Kevin Norwood, AJ McCarron, Kenny Bell, etc...have a good but of experience. But as a whole, I disagree. And we obviously never agree so I'd rather not continue.
I didn't list all, but out of the list, these don't have very much experience. Especially in the moment where the game matters (and no special teams).
ETA: Also, a lot of the defensive starters (and a few on offense) on the 2012 team won't have important, game-time experience, so how would the backups be experienced? That baffling.

of course injuries not withstanding....
Looking at the schedule.
I'd say we'll be favored in all games but LSU - maybe Ark. (not sure about AU at this point...they could be pretty good or just better than UT. Their O line has some recruited talent and back field depth, but in experienced depth and stars on D but not sure about top to bottom) I think Mizzou and their experienced QB will be a tough game ..on the road, but we do have the bye week before hand to work on some spread. UT/Ole Miss - nah. LSU is a tough game, especially now that it's after the MSU game, an then hosting aTm after LSU. That aTm game is after a physical two week stretch and 5 weeks after a bye.
The defense I think can be really good next year with three things 1) a solid NT emerges (Ivory/Lake or if the Juco kid is signed 2) Lester stays 2) either Dixon or Beleue make an impact in the secondary.
I like the offensive potential. like '10 we may have to out run some teams early (ark?) I think we can take down jump ball robinson (mich)
So a rambling way to say... I see Bama bowling in Florida again. UGA going to the Sugar, LSU going to Miami, and UA playing Nebraska in Tampa. With a bowl 10-11 wins.

Hubbard, played in 8 games this year
Dickson, played in 12 games this year
DePriest, played in 12 games and finished after Mosely got hurt last night.
Mosely has been a beast since his freshman yr
Patrick, played in 10 games this year
Atchinson, played in 2 games
Fulton, played in 12 games this year
Dickson, played in 6 games this year
Ha-Ha, played in 12 games this year
Not even going to address you listing players not on campus as if they are going to be starters next year, and as far as O-linemen you listed, Bama returns 4 of 5 starters next year.

If Saban wins 10 next year he will have conquered the world of CFB. We lose our complete secondary and 2 DL's. The reason Bama is so good on defense is we run a complicated scheme. Well that takes time to learn. We may never be that good again.
Offensively we probably get better even without TR and MM. AJ could be the best QB in the SEC next year. We have 2 of the top 7 WR's recruits coming and a stable of 4* already. We have Eddie Lacy, Fowler, Dee Hart and TJ Yeldon at running back. Our OL may be the best OL in Bama history. Fluker and Kouandjio will be great OT's and with Jones, Warmack and Steen they will be unstoppable.
.
Defense wins championships though and our offense will have some off nights. Think OSU at ISU this year. We also have a rough schedule. I got us 9-4 or 10-3. Anything better than that and we should build another statue.
I'm calling the 2013 season another run at the NC but not next year.

Pretty sure he played in every game until he was injured

How much defense did they play versus ST? DePreist, Mosely, and Sunseri are the only ones that played actual defense more than just some mop up duty.
Why does everyone keep forgetting about Vinnie Sunseri? He's one of my favorite players.

I could care less how many games they played in. That stat is kept up even if they play one snap. I still considered Jake Holland, Chris Davis, Corey Lemonier (and he played a lot more than Freshmen usually do), John Sullen, Barrett Trotter, etc... inexperienced even though they had played in a lot of games. An accumulation of snaps is a far better telling stat. I didn't see many of those Bama players play a ton of snaps, and I'm not even talking about ST. Considering that experience is far-fetched.
ETA: And why not list players that aren't on campus? You don't expect them to come in and take spots from others? Dixon could very well start.

The only position I really worry about is NG and Corner. Josh Chapman didnt really excel last year, but proved to be pretty good this year. By now everyone knows how key the role is is a 3-4.
Corners will have one starter with 3 years exp and 2 jucos, at this point they could be better than this group now. We wont find out till game time though.
The best D we faced this year and what will be the best D we face next year was just beaten really without Trent. Hard to replace but not impossible.
We do lose an all american OL but replace him with one. Cyrus battled for PT all year and I feel he is gonna be the best out of the group eventually.

The problem with Bama fans is that they think you can just trade out players.
I was one of the few who thought we would struggle at times in 2010 and in no way thought we would be competing for a national championship.
You just don't lose players like we are losing and expect to pick up where you left off. There are a ton of intangibles that go into being that good, not too mention luck.
If we get to 10 wins next year, it'll be his best coaching job at Bama to date.

2 full pages before a rational Bama fan posted. Nice

Mosely has played as much as Nico, when not hurt and has for 2 yrs, Ha-Ha played some meaningful snaps in the secondary this year, Hubbard has as well. DePriest and Sunseri have done great. Sunseri took over Lowery's spot when he went down early in the year. There's alot more depth going into next season than we had going into 2009. There's no denying that, and Bama still had a top ten defense. Bama will have a top ten defense next year as well. I didn't say they wouldn't have some growing pains, we will.
With what's returning and what is returning on offense though, Bama could pull out what I posted. Like I said, jmo, and everyone can have theirs too, just be nice to have some accurate reasons, instead of making things up though.

Every time someone says we will be young on D next year, I cant help but think about LSU this year. No reason to think we cant be that good. Plus we will have a better O.
Arkansas will be a closer game but we will still be solidly favored.
LSU is the tricky one. They certainly come in 11/5 and took out a W, the roles could be exactly reversed. Especially if Mett has a game like Aj did on 11/5. Lets also not forget how tough the 10 schedule was either. While it wont be a cake walk next year, The only team that I could really predict as a loss is LSU.
Time will tell.

We lose our complete secondary
I agree that there is no reason to think we will have anywhere near the historic defense that we had this year but its far too early to say we lose our complete secondary.
For one, Milliner will be back for sure. He was very good this year and should be one of the top corners in the league next year. Lester also may come back, and Sunseri got more and more time as the year went on.
Too early to say what the safety situation will be but if Lester comes back I feel like it should be ok considering we only have to replace one guy (Sunseri, Clinton-Dix, Williams, maybe even Collins).
The corners are more of an issue but just having Milliner back is a better situation than we had in 2010. We have to find two other guys though and that in itself should mean that we'll have a dropoff overall considering Dre, Menzie, and Milliner were a fantastic group.

We rotated a ton on the Dline too, and Jesse will be back at the NG position. Next yrs defense, will be a step back from this year, but what defense wouldn't be? It'll be top ten and do a sufficient job I believe.
Posted on 1/10/12 at 9:01 pm to Crede15
We're also bringing in the top juco corner in Dixon to help replace the loss of Kirkpatrick and Menzie.

I won't be too disappointed with 2 or 3 losses. I realize how much they lose. But LSU is the only game I can say Alabama shouldn't win right now.
