One of bama's main podcasters is saying "safe to say, 7-8-9 for sure", but "mabe as many as 20+".

Not every player who enters the portal has the intention on leaving the team this year. Many are hunting for NIL dollars, even at their home program.

There have been a lot of kids that went to Bama because going to and often winning an NC was just kind of THE THING.
That has all but dried up, the West is pretty even across the board in talent, adding HF to Auburn just added another level of competition.
Bama hasn't had great years without having better talent. The premier SEC talent has made it's way to UGA and others are dipping into Bama pot. Saban is going to win games based on coaching and that isn't a sure bet.
Bama had a better roster than LSU and UT this year, and they lost both.
Saban's success has been largely due to his success recruiting in Louisiana. That should dwindle.

Saban better get his shite together this off season or fall behind. It take good coaching these days.
