What happens to Georgia?
Georgia would still be in if they lost to Tech.
2 losses - both to Top 10/15 teams
Wins over Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas
They'd likely drop to a road game in the 1R, but they'd be in.

And Notre Dame passes the eye-test compared to Alabama.
Yeah and its hard to pass a comparative eye test when your team is playing teams stacked with first rounders. Look at LSU's defense, OU's defense. There is literally no comparison to Minnesota and Pitt

It’s highly possible FSU will wind up 7-5.
Pitt- with GTech and Miami left on their schedule could also end up 7-5.
Wanna know Notre Dame’s second best win?
You’re right if you guessed Pitt.
This is not helping your argument.
Notre Dame blew out Pitt on the road. Alabama got beat by two touchdowns against Florida State.

crazier things have happened…
The committee jockeys for matchups. Its what they care about. Compelling matchups bring eyeballs to tvs.
They are lining up UGA to host ND in a 2nd round revenge game.
They want OSU and IU protected in the 1st round because they know they are both more vulnerable than they are dominant. They would shite if either of them lost in a 1st round game so theyre both getting byes no matter what happens in Indy.

In relation to Alabama? I agree Georgia would be in. But play it out.
Alabam beats Auburn, UGA loses to Tech..
Is Bama now 9th and UGA 10th?
Let’s go even further.. Bama loses in OT to A&M.. Are they suddenly out? Are they still ahead of UGA that sat at home?
The whole thing is a joke! By putting Bama behind ND … the committee has painted themselves into a corner.

The wildest thing is Miami being ranked above GaTech.
Guess the committee is penciling Tech in for a loss vs Uga.

Are they?
Look, the playoff committee has been pretty obvious that overall record is the biggest factor in the rankings. Bama has two losses.
Of the two teams with 2 losses ahead of them, 1 (OU lost to them head to head). They're still ahead of a 1-loss team (BYU) because that team has a weak schedule.
The only real argument that they're under ranked is if they should be ahead of ND. But we're talking about the difference between 9th and 10th.
Do I think Bama is better than the 10th best team this year? Yes. But based on the playoff committee's past rankings... they're exactly where you'd expect them to be... again with the only exception being that maybe they should be ahead of ND and in 9th.

The fact the committee made their rankings and Bama has beaten 4 ranked teams in those rankings the most in country and they can’t get past a team with two losses who has beaten one ranked team is mind boggling …. Bad loss 1 4 ranked wins …… until OU beat them Bama was the hottest thing in college football …. Did OU beating them erase all that ? It’s not like OU sucks .

OK. But what happens to Tech? Who do they push out of the Top 12? And are they on the outside looking in if they finish 11-2 if they lose their champ game while uga is in despite having lost to tech and not playing in their conference championship game?

I don't disagree, but one can easily tie themselves into knots thinking up scenarios.
If Tech Beats uga and loses their Champ game they'll be 11-2 and watching a team they would have beaten that's 10-2 play in the playoffs?
That's fricking gay.

Florida State got screwed going 13-0 and Alabama benefited from it. Remember that?
Posted on 11/19/25 at 1:25 pm to Gideon Swashbuckler
And what about BYU?
Say they play tech in their championship game and lose. They'd be 10-2 with their 2 losses coming to potentially a team that gets a bye.
Are they out? Why? SOS? Eye test?

They'd likely end up pretty high after the win (it would go a long way to justifying their program). I'd guess they'd end up in the top 7.
The team that would have been 12th after the game would fall out of the top 12.
If they then lose to UVA, they'd fall. Would they end up in the playoff? Too hard to tell at this point.
But I am not thinking GT will beat UGA.

Theoretically even if BAMA wins out they could be ranked below two teams they beat H2H because they lost to FSU??
That's dumb too.
Lots of things could happen.

Me neither.
But to think 11-2 GaTech could sit at home and watch 10-2 Uga in the playoffs having beaten them is a wild scenario and possible.

More than likely there would be another team (either a 3 loss ccg loser or a 2 loss team like BYU or TT) that would be left out instead. Both UGA and GT would make it.

I get it I'm just saying.
Rivalry game. GaTech kicks a walk-off FG and wins 29-28.
Then gets blasted in their Champ game 42-14.
Are they both still in??

Probably.
I think all the Big 10 and SEC teams that finish the year with 2 or fewer losses will be in. I also think all the 2-loss teams from the Big 12 and ACC who get the second loss in their CCG will also be in.
After that come other 2-loss teams. In your scenario GT would get their second loss in the CCG. They'd be ahead of teams like Miami or Houston.
GT might even be ahead of Vandy, even though Vandy would likely be more deserving at 2-losses. Simply because Vandy doesn't seem to get the positive SEC treatment. But deep down I think Vandy will lose to Tennessee, even if I will be cheering for them.

Only so many playoff spots.
There will be several 2-loss power 5 teams out of the playoffs imho.

Sure it is. Alabama beat more ranked teams and had a tougher schedule than Notre Dame.
Notre Dame’s toughest team played was a loss at home.
Also, why are they ahead of a team that beat them?
Everybody knows Alabama is not the same team that lost to FSU including you. You’re just being the typical Loserana message board troll.
