Long over due imo. Besides we're Alabama, the flagship of the SEC and we should be the ones getting all the breaks.

Agreed. Maybe ya'll should include a statue of an SEC official in your Walk of Champions.

Every single one of you would be wanting the same thing if it was your school. All of you AD's agreed with Mal Moore.

That's crazy, what's next...switching the schedule to make sure they don't play all the their tough games on the road?

Seeing as how the home/away schedule is completely equitable for each team in the conference, I doubt you'll see Bama complaining about this.

The bye week issue is not equitable at all.

I've noticed this being said a few times already.

Would you mind putting a link to this claim?

Since 2007, these are the number of SEC games played when the opponent had an open week prior to the game:

17—Alabama

5—LSU

4—Vanderbilt

4—Florida

4—Tennessee

3—Georgia

3—Auburn

2—Kentucky

1—Ole Miss

1—Mississippi State

0—Arkansas

0—South Carolina
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And this. Now, you pussies need to STFU. /thread

Bama has played 9 games to date where the team had a bye before. Some of them wash out. I just went through the schedules from '07 to '09. Bama's schedule was as follows:

'07 - 3 byes before they played Bama. One of which is moot since Bama had a bye also before the LSU game that year.

'08 - 3 byes. Two are moot since one of them was Arky St. and the other Bama had a bye also before the Auburn game.

'09 - 3 byes. FWIW, Bama had a bye before the LSU game while LSU did not.

Was just a little misleading the way you put it. You made it seem like the AD's gave the SEC the go-ahead to change the schedules.

AD's being receptive to the SEC providing solutions is different IMHO.

I'm sure all of the AD's were ok with it so long as it didn't affect their respective schools schedules.

I seriously doubt that our banker of an AD is ok with having to negotiate money terms with another team.

But I have no doubt that he's perfectly fine with Auburn, LSU, MSU, etc. having to change theirs.

Like I said, we got royally screwed last year from a last minute schedule change. I would certainly hope that he would have his foot down.

But as I said earier, I would be willing to negotiate things so long as I can put the LSU/OM match-up annually on Halloween again. If you turdnuggets get the 3rd SofOct, then we should be able to get Halloween.

Whaaaa? Each team plays 4 home games and 4 road games. You rotate home and away every year with each team in your division and your permanent east opponent. How is it not equitable?

It does. Date's all the way back to the 50's. Lots of history on that date between the two teams.

Is Halloween always on a Saturday? Just kidding, I'd have no problem with that. I wish we still played UT on the 3rd Saturday every year. For the most part lately, its been kinda dumb to talk about the "3rd Saturday rivalry" while on the 4th Saturday.
