re: Did Nick Fairley win any awards tonight??

I believe he got the Tonya Harding Award. This award is given to the student athlete who attempts the most cheap shots at his opponents to take them out of play. Runner up was Ryan Pugh.

re: Why is Florida considered a better job than Miami?

Frankly, I don't ever expect Miami to return to the levels it was at in the 80s 90s and early 2000s.
The fan support is brutal the stadium isn't on campus and Miami is a bad sports town unless it's the heat or fish.
Florida is part of the the 2 billion SEC package with ESPN.
They sell out have an on campus stadium and Gainsville revolves around football.
Miami is too preoccupied in being Miami sun chicks and clubs etc ...
You honestly don't think the fan support in florida is based on recent success?
The ENTIRE state of florida has horrible fans, not just Miami. If Miami make a great hire and UF misses, they will trade places and florida will slip right down to were Miami has been for 5 years.
We all know florida is rich in talent, but a lot of the premier talent comes from the Miami area, if they can get some one who will keep it there, the fan support will return, so will the donations, then they can improve facilities...etc.
Florida is not unique, especially because of FSU and Miami. It is not like a Ohio St., Alabama, Nebraska, Tennessee, or Notre Dame. Those schools may have down time but will come back. UF has never has success until Spurrier came in 1989.

Because at the end of the day, UF is a better school and the Gators are a better football team.
Current football team maybe better, but Miami is a MUCH better school. That is common knowledge, if you don't believe it, you're lying to yourself.

That's how I know you're not in florida. If you were you would have said.
"It is really hell waking up everyday on a yellow rocky beach covered in cigarette butts and empty PBR cans, with endless supply of homosexuals and rednecks with jorts."

You guys think that the unbelievable talent on the roster would thrive in any system or are they more "system type guys"? Ya think UF is in for a couple more rebuilding years if they don't hire a "spread guy"?
They had that "great talent" this year too ya know, and they went 7-5.
Who knows? With a coaching change there is almost always a year or two hangover.

You seriously believe florida will beat Penn St., but UT will lose to UNC's 2nd string?
Ok...

I would say UT deserves more than any of those team and Florida.
Florida, Kentucky, and UGA all lost their way to a bowl, UT on the other had won 4 straight to make their way to the bowl game.
Florida is horrible, and undoubtably undeserving of the Outback bowl. Even though Penn. St. is horrible, they'll still beat UF by 10.

Agreed, they definitely have a good argument, but Oklahoma got waxed by UF and TT got beat handily by Ole Miss...
Not sure what OK State did, and I know Texas barely beat tOSU...
Agree wtih your point. I'm not saying they were better teams, Im just saying that was the more difficult division.

College Football has seen this decade....
With all due respect, the Big XII south two years ago was the toughest DIVISION college football has seen this decade.
Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech, were all ranked in the top 8 a couple of weeks before the end of the year, not to mention Oklahoma State was also a top 20 team that year.

Yeah, UK sold out because they hired Calipari?
So Alabama sold out when they hired Saban. and Florida sold out when they hired Urban. and LSU sold out when they hired Les... etc..
