Usually, Bama’s defense Is the main topic and I have little hope LSU can move the ball against them. They seem to be very good this year, but have taken a bit of a back seat to the high powered offense.

Tell me about this defense. Strengths? Weaknesses? What should we look for? I haven’t watched Alabama play that much and sense they haven’t played anyone yet this season, I haven’t been too interested. What should we look for?

Not as good as in past seasons statistically but that may have something to do with the quick scoring offense.

Lots of injuries. Several starting LB's out for season. CB out for season. Lots of new faces. Front line is doing well this year.

New guys plus injuries so they've had a ton of blown assignments. They've been better they last couple of weeks, though. Still not as great as last couple of years, but not many will be.

As said, were thin at linebacker due to injuries. Mack Wilson is very good, but a drop off compared to most of our defensive Captain LBs front the past (We've gotten spoiled).

The corners are also pretty young, but definitely talented. The injury to Diggs hurt. But the secondary is still solid. Deionte Thompson is a badass this season.

Our strength is probably our defensive line. Between Q Williams, Raekwon Davis, and Buggs, they're some monsters. They've definitely given up more stats and points. But a lot of that had been garbage time, and the number of extra plays this season. Our time of possession is way down.

Dline gets a ton of pressure, pocket collapses quick and from all sides. But then they will also all take an outside rush at once and just let a QB take a big run up the middle. Other than that they are awesome. Lbs are not as good as last year but still better than most. Secondary has a crap load of talent but tend to give up more big plays due to confusion or inexperience, although that's been less of an issue as the season goes along. They are ballhawks for sure, and surtain is a badass in man coverage. Basically nobody has been able to throw on him in

In other words: very vulnerable. Enough said. Top defense in the country vs the top offense in the country (allegedly)

It is one thing that concerns me, but most of the ones that have had success are quick little dudes like Mond. Joe is strong and trouble when he gets up to speed, but his take off is lacking.

Do y'all run alot of pick plays, we are definitely vulnerable to that.

I know we have given up at least two TDs this year to guys blocking are backs before the ball is thrown

I'd agree with that

Very is a strong word. Diggs going down have Surtain more reps. And while they started out young. You gain a lot of experience in 8 games. They're slowly becoming a strength. Our OLBs are probably the only group that gives me real pause. And they're probably still better than 2/3rds of the SEC. Just not elite like past years.
