What makes you think he's a better tournament coach than Grant? He had one spectacular run at Alabama and that was his one trip to the sweet 16 or beyond. He lost in the second round as a 2 seed and went one and done or 1-1 every year except the elite 8. I expect Grant can easily at least match that.

heck no. His teams showed no offensive imagination. He was continually outcoached his last few years. It'd be like Croom going to Purdue and winning a bowl game. Would Miss. State fans want him back?

gottfried was never the cog that led the program. TR Dunn was the man behind the scenes making it happen when we were at our best in the 2000s.
Gottfried was always a good recruiter and mediocre coach. nothing more or less.

CMG went to the 8,came home and got a Big Big contract and then lost his focus. As in a young lady on a golf course.
He took a payout then moved to LA(Orange Beach) and took a rest from coaching.
Now he's back and doing good. I think most of my Bama friends are happy for him and like where CAG is headed.

NC State actually has some good players. If he ever has a team with mediocor talent you will see his real coaching ability
