We made it in the Dixieland Delight song cheer along with Auburn and Tennessee.
So seems like yes.

For the 30 years from Bear's last season, 1982 through 2011 LSU was 15-14-1 vs Alabama, but only won 4 games at home against them during that time.
Of course, Alabama only won 4 games at home vs LSU as well.
It hasn't been just the last decade.

They were always more of an afterthought growing up vs UT and Auburn (and Notre Dame ironically), that were our big games. The SEC going to division play has led to the dwindling of UT as an important rival to fans <50 yo. Auburn is really the only game that feels like it determines a season for both schools now.
LSU is a big game because of their talent and the Saban connection, but I think it’s more of a rivalry to LSU then to Alabama fans. Our expectations for championships in the playoff era are so unrealistically high at this point, that we’ve kind of transcended (at least for awhile) conference rivals.

Not really in the way you're asking; not like Au or Ut.
L7u has been an intense and important game for the most part but not as much over the past 4 years.
It is way more one sided on their part as they have a severe case of Bama envy. On a season like this year when they have a good start They work themselves up into a frenzy thinking this is the year, then their season typically dies after the annual beating by Bama. Then (started pregame thisyear) the swamptrash start up the ref conspiracy threads, the woulda coulda threads, wait til next year threads and etc. It's a vicious cycle. Swamptrash gonna swamptrash

LSU really doesn’t have a rivalry we just hate everyone in the SEC....some a little more than others. But Bama really isn’t a rival

No.
We have one rival. The stinking vols
We have a team we just plain hate worse than the stinking vols- Notre Dame
And we have a wanna be rival - the barn
I will say that L7U has made a lot of progress and I could see them eventually eclipsing the stinking vols.
But it is not this day

Honestly, Florida is a much bigger rival than LSU. Bama and Florida have constantly played games against each other with enormous stakes on the line for both teams. And there's many epic games and moments such as the Antonio Langham Pick Six, Florida ruining Alabama's perfect season in 1994, the epic game in the Swamp in '99, and of course the 2008 and 2009 SEC Championship Games. They're Bama's third biggest rival after Auburn and Tennessee.

Wrong.

No. I consider it a yearly big game against a divisional foe.
I don't dislike LSU at all.

Same here. Some of the best fans in the country and their tendency to occasionally go off the rails adds to the charm.

LSU won 8 of 12 from 2000 to 2011. They went 7-17-1 outside of that from 1982 to 2017.
So, yeah, kind of was. Like with most teams with a pulse.

The LSU home game is my 2nd favorite behind Auburn. They bring people, they bring the entire band, it's always a big night game, etc. It's a fun game.
