That's pure comedy. The logic they're using is

AU has a history with paying players, so if they have a good recruiting class, they're buying the recruits.

Doesn't bama have a history with NCAA viols and paying recruits? So since they pulled in the top two classes in the last two years, wouldnt their logic mean they're buying recruits too?

First, 5-19 Chizik went toe to toe with Saban on the field, now he's going toe to toe with Saban in recruiting. Bama fans gotta come up with something huh?

BTW, if AU's class end up like they mods say it will close with 2 more 5*s and 4 more 4*s, they'll have a top 3 class

Auburn has more violations than Alabama in the past and it was their coaches who were paying the players. It was even on tape. Alabama had a rogue booster paying players. Every time Bama gets a good class Barnies say we;re paying them so turnabout is fair play. I don't believe that Auburn is doing anything illegal or underhanded but since they always accuse Alabama it's only fair to give them a dose of their own medicine.

auburn does have a history of buying players. at one time auburn and texas A&m led the nation in ncaa infractions. that was not that long ago so there are still close to the top. bama has a bad history too.

auburn is in the same situation Bama was when Saban 1st arrived. auburn can offer early PT and that is very attractive to recruits. auburn is recruiting for necessity...Bama is recruiting for depth.
I would also add that after NSD plays out, Bama will STILL be the kings of the state and conference.

The same ones that were bitching and moaning when AU was accusing them of the same last summer?

The NCAA Committee on Infractions called the University of Alabama a "serial repeat violator" with an "abysmal infractions track record" and an "extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA," in responding to the school's textbook appeal, according to documents released today.

Guess that just about sums it up.

What goes around comes around. I don't think either program has been paying players.

What does it matter? Alabama will have a top three class too.

It's just funny to me though considering I saw posts from so many UA fans saying AU would be lucky to have a top 20 class around July/August, and that AU fans were "delusional" when we said certain recruits were going to commit.. Were you one of these UA fans?

So, based on some of the above posts, AU has already signed these guys?

I never thought Auburn would land Dyer or Reed, because it's not smart to bet against the instate school. Without those two Auburn has a top fifteen class right now. Regardless, Alabama has till won most of the head-to-head battles, and will finish with another banner year. I'm not overly worried about Auburn's recruiting, unless Alabama and Auburn are going head-to-head.

Well as long as our staff doesn't have any "Kiffin" type mistakes, our class will stay put for the most part. And if we do have any attrition, our remaining targets are all 4-5 stars. But considering our staff got every JUCO player they were after, I like our chances on landing the majority of this class.

Auburn is #7 right now and pulling in top recruits from all over the country. We only have 22 recruits committed as of right now that count towards the 2010 class. Chizik will take more instate recruits next year and still use his ties from Texas and the rest of the SEC states.

Isn't the NCAA poking around in BR because of an incident of a coach paying a recruit?
