Kwon Alexander, Javi Mitchell, and Cassanova Mckinzey will not.

If we get Kwon, Javy might pick Bama... I hope we get both, though.

He has played some, though mostly on special teams. He'll contribute a lot in 2012. I'm hoping that if Chris Jordan doesn't play soon, he'll redshirt, and save that senior year for 2012 too.

Jerrell Harris will prove in April, that you can be a backup for 3+ years, and still get drafted as a LB at Alabama.

That's what I was gonna mention, it would be easier for Patrick if Jordan left. MIKE would be in a flux, plus the depth at SAM will be gone next year(Harris, Watkins, and Hubbard to JACK).

Jordan has been banged up, so it wouldn't surprise me if they go ahead and shut down the season for him. I've been a big fan since he arrived, hopefully he gets his shot at MIKE in 2012. I've heard for the last 2 years he is Rolando-esque when it comes to the knowledge of the defense.

I personally think that some players get drafted from Bama's defense simply because they played under Saban. Marquis Johnson comes to mind... But with Jerrell, is it that he just can't learn the playbook? He reminds me a lot of Eltoro Freeman in those regards. Both are also physical freaks. But if he gets drafted, wow...

Hell, Chavis Williams landed on the Ravens taxi squad and he started just 1 year at SAM.

I think there was some bias though from the GM, he beat out Josh Bynes for the spot

Is on an NFL team as we speak. He was better than most people thought BEFORE his senior year.

Which undermines your point about Tana Patrick, or any other backup LB at Alabama, needing to have signed with Auburn.

If he could stay healthy, he would have already started.

Maybe so. I hope Bynes gets on with a good defensive team.

I was talking about players like Marquis Johnson. Bama has had how many cornerbacks that were better than him. Menzie, Kirkpatrick, Jackson, Arenas, etc... He wasn't that good from everything I saw. I don't think Jerrelle Harris coming to Auburn would've helped him get drafted if he can't learn the playbook. He'd be like Eltoro Freeman. Sure, he would've played a lot more. But that's because our LBs are thin and not very talented.

No doubt.

The LB would be better in 2012 with him, even if he's not a Hightower caliber player. He knows the calls, so Bama wouldn't have to rush Nico, CJ, or DePriest into that situation. And at the same time he could bring along whichever LB that will be the MIKE in 2013...
