This is why we make people prove it on the field.

why not Oregon instead of UGA?
And BTW, if the intent is truly to win it on the field, the why does Ole Miss advance over Georgia when each has a win over the other. Shouldn't there be a third (tie-breaker) game? I mean you sincerely want it decided on the field, right?
I mean it's ludicrous to say you want it decided on the field and then after it's been decided on the field, have them play the game over again as if the first game that was decided on the field didn't count.
You can't have it both ways. Either you want it decided on the field or you don't. Make up your mind.

Believe it or not, regular season games are played on the field.
And Georgia lost to Alabama...so which is the worst loss....losing to Indiana or losing to Alabama?

Georgia made it to the SECCG for a rematch.
Oregon did not.

This is what LSU fans claim every year and instead over the past 12 years you've had 1 season where you didn't lose 3 regular season games minimum.

SEC no longer has it's fake luster.

SEC has lost it's leverage as the dominant football conference.

Of what, and is it more or less than when you all said this after you hired Brian Kelly?
The guy has 2 big wins in his entire career, Georgia last year and against USC @ Oregon in 2011.
Earlier this year Ole Miss blew a 9 point lead to Georgia under him. Without him, Ole Miss wins the game despite getting screwed by the refs.
Last year he beat Georgia, but also blew a lead @ LSU and lost that game, then managed to find a way to lose to a terrible Kentucky team, and a Billy Napier lead Florida team.
I think he has a total of 2 road wins against ranked teams in his entire career.
You certainly keep up with things more than I do...

Yeah, and we say it on here a lot.... but the conference is honestly way down lately. You can say other conferences are top heavy as well, but there are teams I listed in the bad category below that are usually very good and competitive. Just not lately.
Who in the SEC was actually good this year?
Good
Georgia
Ole Miss
Average at best
Bama
Vandy
Everyone else was pretty bad.
Auburn
Tennessee
Florida
aTm
Texas
Arkansas
Miss St
Oklahoma
LSU
Missouri
Kentucky
South Carolina

The group of 5 isn’t the problem
There are always going to be blowouts in big games here and there even if you have the best two teams in the country. I can recall plenty of lopsided national championship games. Sometimes one team brings its A game and the other does not.
Generally speaking, the playoffs would be better without the G5.

We knew, having watched this team all year, that they had loads of talent, but lacked intensity; they were soft when they met a team with the same level of skill. We ran a West Coast offense that relied on gimmicks instead of toughness

The going for it on fourth down only trailing 3-0 seemed desperate to me.
I know “analytics” say go, but IF you don’t make it they are set up at 34 yard line.
IF you do go for it, why take your QB out of equation?
The sideways pop pass instead of QB run or #4 running just did not add up.

This just confirms there needs to be less teams in playoffs, not more. Take the top ranked teams, period. Do away with automatic bids. Twelve teams is too much and drags on too long.

You are right that Auburn didn't win many games, but they never bent over like a prison fairy like the Tahd did in 3 games. Alabama may have won a bunch of games, but this season will always be remembered as how Alabama was castrated.
That must really suck to have this as the only thing you can hang your hat on as an Auburn fan. This tracks though, Bama losing has always been more important than winning in Auburn

Because DeBoer/Grubb are idiots! It was 3-0 in the 2nd qtr on the Bama 39.
The whole sequence was comical. Run a stretch play 15 yds wide while needing 1 yard.
Punt the ball and play defense. Make them drive the field. Maybe get a turnover.
No, that’d be too much like smart. Get stuffed for a 4 yd loss, and give the Heisman the ball on the 35 yd line! After they scored, the defense shut down. It was over.

Notre Dame wouldn't have lost by 35.
Notre Dame would have beat Bama by 2 touchdowns. They were playing really good football at the end of the season.

Yes, it's called being alive during the time it all happened.
I spent a decade on the west coast during the time when he was the HC of the Raiders and USC. I went to Raiders games when he was the coach.
I was around USC fans while he was there, heard their complaints and so forth. Also got a lot of shite from them when Saban hired him.
