This is stupidity on steroids. The opportunities that free college education and a shot at making millions of dollars in the pros provide are some of the best things available to young black athletes. End the system and this all goes away. The biggest losers are the young black athletes. By Far.

Dude !!!

I don't know how simple I can make this, your baseline mentality is racist and you don't realize it

When 100 Athletes gross $125million plus dollars, money at the NFL or money from your college degree is UNRELATED TO THAT $125million that was grossed each yr of your college career

If you're gonna tell players to get their money from an UNRELATED ENTITY - THE NFL, then tell coaches to do the same, cap the HCs at $1million and then say if you want more money ,then your efforts here in college should serve as a showcase for an NFL HC job, among the 70 P5 colleges billions in TV money is generated, the players deserve a more fair piece OF THAT MONEY, the NFL and your job after College is immaterial to that money

Just because you're not used to something (players getting larger stipends) doesn't mean it's wrong, just because something is done 1 way for a long time (bullshite NCAA amateur model) doesn't make it right

Why do narrow-minded people like you always assume a scorched earth scenario, if they get paid it'll END THE SYSTEM?

So no one in America is smart enough to build a system where the Players can play college FB and get a more fair cash stipend?

In your world the only way for these Blacks to better themselves at some theoretical point in the future is to gross $100 million for 4 straight years and THEN MAYBE THEY'LL SEE SOME ROI way down the Road as long as they "play stupid" and forget about the $400million + they helped to gross in college, my point is they should see some ROI on that $400million they helped to gross while in College, PLUS be able to get endorsements , a BA or BS degree ain't quite enough ROI for my tastes

The NCAA has gotten away with a corrupt system for far too long, it's a shame that so many like yourself cannot see the corruption, to save you some keystrokes, Amateur Model doesn't have to mean, "lint in your pockets "for the Players that bring in the Money

I know LSU makes a profit on baseball. In 2019 baseball profited $464,109. Why are you so sure it wouldn’t be $5 million?

Because I have a background in Corp Finance, I could eyeball it and guess what LSU was profiting off of College baseball, and I knew it wouldn't be $5million

Already reduced to playing the race card in your argument? There is already a place for athletes to get paid for their talents. It's called professional football, baseball, basketball, etc. Let them forego college and go straight to the money. I could give a shite. That colleges provide another avenue to showcase their skills and actually enhance their chances at making more money is a positive, not a negative. That colleges offer a chance to get a valuable education that can set someone up for their entire life even if they are unable to get one of those huge professional contracts is a positive. Nobody is forcing anyone to play college football. If they don't like the setup, don't go to college.

Just don't assume that eating into the profit margins of major college football means that colleges will continue the sport. THEY built it and THEY own it and THEY have complete control over whether or not THEY see it as worth THEIR time and money. Your proposal isn't about THEM. That's where it fails. THEY are more important than the athletes. THEY are the golden goose. Keep stabbing it. It all goes away.
