Marc Gasol was an all star who averages nearly a double double per game.

Sure, he is a very good player. Would you consider him a SUPERSTAR?

Paul Millsap averages 17 and 8 and averaged 18 and 9 last year, but I wouldn't consider him a superstar. Very good, all-star caliber player, yes. But not a "superstar".

Maybe we just all have different definitions of that term.

I'd say the NBA superstars right now are
- LeBron James
- Russell Westbrook
- Stephen Curry
- Kevin Durant
- James Harden
- Chris Paul
- Anthony Davis
- DeMarcus Cousins
- Kobe Bryant (in name only)

Then at the next level are very good all-star level players like
- Blake Griffin
- Klay Thompson
- LaMarcus Aldridge
- Kawhi Leonard
- Tim Duncan
- Carmelo
- Marc Gasol
- Kyrie Irving
- Jimmy Butler
etc, etc

The Nets have had 23 coaches in their history. 16 of those coaches had higher winning percentages than Avery Johnson. That sums up the loser bammers are hyping up as some great coach

Two thoughts:

1) You just gave away your age.

2) When are you launching your gubernatorial campaign?

I mean, I know the rant is built on the blocks of stupidity, but the combination of stupidity and willful ignorance on this issue is just staggering.
I love it though, don't you?

Think about all shite these idiots have thrown at Coach Saban in the last 8 years. All the stupid crap spewed when UA hired him.

Avery Johnson has a great opportunity in front him, he will be given everything he wants to build and operate a successful program. The BOT will throw money at him left and right, all he has to do is ask.

I'm hoping he comes in and makes these fools eat their words like CNS has done.

Auburn has had 20 coaches. 2 have had a winning record in the SEC. Guess how many since 1963. 0 And your current coach has the 4th worst SEC record of the group of "winners".

I think Marc could and would be a superstar if he were on a team that didn't have another very good big. He doesn't have to average more than 18 an 8 to win because he has Zebo drinks opponents tears with his morning breakfast.

Yea, I mean he would definitely be in the conversation. I think to the larger point, though, is that the Grizzlies are built around a nucleus and a supporting cast that plays a brand. They aren't built around "a superstar" in which everyone else knows their role is to get "the superstar" the ball, which is how the NBA was described earlier by Puppets. Those teams really don't exist anymore. Not even the Cavs play that way.

The years AJ coached the Mavs. Don't just list the Champion and claim it was a great Conference.

It really is quite amazing to read your posts. Your arguments get consistently blown out of the water, yet you are back shamelessly trolling.

The truth is success or failure in the pros correlates very little with success on the college level in any major sport. Gene Stallings and Nick Saban not to mention Steve Spurrier were flops in the the pros and great, title winning coaches on the college level. Coach Cal and Petino sucked in the NBA, and kill it in college, etc. CAJ actually had some success in the NBA which is encouraging, and if his personality is any indicator...he will be a great recruiter. Truth is, nobody knows how he will be as a college coach...but I think he has a pretty high ceiling based on what we know about him.

The stats I posted are very relevant. They show why nobody else wants Avery Johnson as their coach
