The stats I posted are very relevant. They show why nobody else wants Avery Johnson as their coach

Did Bruce Pearl ask you spread that lie? It's ok if he did, he has a history of it.

Can anyone name a player on those Mavs teams other than Dirk and Jason Terry?

Well lets see Year 1 : the Suns won 62 games, the Sonics won 52 games, the Spurs won 59 games. There were 6 teams in the West that won 50+, there were 2 in the East. San Antonio won the title. Year 2 : Spurs won 63, Mavs 60, Suns 54. Mavs won the West. Heat won the Title. Year 3 : Mavs won 67, Suns won 61, Spurs won 58, Jazz won 51, Rockets won 52. 5 teams with 50+ wins. 2 in the East with 50+ wins. San Antonio wins the title. Year 4 : Lakers win 57, Hornets win 56, Spurs win 56, Jazz win 54, Rockets win 55, Suns win 55, Mavs win 51, Nuggets win 50. West with 8 teams with 50+ wins, East with 3. Boston beats LA in 7 games. So..........yes the West was good.

No, two teams in the West were good (Spurs,Mavs-?) the rest were average at best.

well the 04 season had 4 teams in the west with more than 50 wins.

05 had 4 teams with 50+ and Grizz had 49

06 had 5 teams with 50+ wins

and that's where I stopped because the west was very good. Phoenix, dallas, Houston, San Antonio were all consistently top teams in the NBA in thsoe years

Avery's teams or Carlisle's teams?

Devin Harris, Barea, Josh Howard, Dampier, Jason Kidd eventually.

Yep - the Suns/Spurs/Mavs had some amazing playoff series. The Nash/Amare D'Antonio teams in Phoenix were incredibly fun to watch. People just stopped paying as much attention because they love stars, and that era of the late 2000's was right after the Bulls era of the 90s and the Kobe/Shaq era of the early 2000's.

Yeah those Suns teams changed how offense is being played in the NBA. Had a 2 time NBA MVP.

Average bunch.

dude the Suns had an MVP and won 50+ games every year that's in question

they went 62-20 and Nash won the MVP 2 years in a row between 04-05 iirc

the western conference was not even a little bit weak

Another superstar driven team. How did they all do in the playoffs. That is all that matters in the NBA. The regular season is for betting and SC Highlights.

Josh Howard, Devin Harris, Marquis Daniels, Jerry Stackhouse, Keith Van Horn, Eric Dampier from 06.

Exactly.
A second year Devin Harris and a bunch of average players. It isn't like he was coaching Shaq and Kobe or MJ and Pippen. Yes Dirk is a great player but this wasn't an automatic 60 win team.

well they were in the western conference finals pretty regularly too and are the only team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit (I think the only-if not the only, then the first in a looong time). They did that vs the Lakers, of all teams.

Look, I see your point in that you can't argue Johnson's resume' based on what he accomplished in the NBA. He had a loaded team. Very Eric Spoelstra-like.

But this argument that the western conference was weak is just flat out retarded.

bro Dirk in his prime on any team is a 50+ win caliber team with a guaranteed playoff spot. That team was very good.
