But that's not the point I've been trying to make here? Could the EXACT same level of motivation been delivered with out obscene language? 110% yes.
One example I'll use because I've seen and experienced it. The lower down the chain of command you go, the worse the language gets. You don't see 3 and 4 * Generals dropping F bombs delivering "motivational speaches" or in public...

I too had cussing coaches, and polite coaches. I believed the cussing coaches more, and they won more as well.

If you truly believe that the best and most effective way to get a point across is yelling and cursing I truly feel sorry for you.
I've been yelled at more than my fair share in my life. And after a while you become numb to it. No different than a yapping dog. I remember those interactions, but I don't think I can tell you 1 word of what was said. It was just yelling.
However, I still remember, almost verbatim, a motivational "speach" given to me by the best natural leader I've ever known. A man that would go on to be a 3 star general. He never raised his voice and he never cursed. But I could tell by his calmness how serious the situation was and that I NEEDED to pay attention.
Bottom line is command style leadership works, but it's the lowest level of leadership there is.
